You can change the settings to make him call out the pacenotes earlier…
@@sambal_sauz3029 That never used to help, but I actually drove that stage a couple of days ago, and I‘ve noticed they seem to have fixed this issue now.

For the love of all, PLEASE upshift that Subaru at around 5 - 6k RPM! Power and torque just drop after 6k. You can even see the shift lamp lighting up at 5.5k.
AntiZumbi why does it matter on a game where you can’t blow up your engine. Unless you can of course.
@@nathandyer8395 because it's faster. he never said it'd damage the engine, just that the power & torque drop off -> slower acceleration.

You're going to love using the Fanatec handbrake in this. Adds so much to the rally/rallycross experience!
On the first track, if you stay slow through the 2nd last corner (the right left S curve) you can swing the end out and exit that corner a lot faster. The speed you gain from not having to turn around that barrier on the right going into the last corner is considerable.
Cool video ... I played the original DiRT Rally and I love the unforgiving nature of these stages .... I’d love to see Argentina with some of those GT’s (Porsche, Aston, ...)

Could u make a video about the best wheel setting and force feedback settings for dirt rally 2.0 . Your other wheel settings videos for the last dirt rally and forza 7 that u made really helped me find the proper wheel and force feedback settings that helped in my races . Love the videos man best sim racing channel on CZcams.

I often find myself looking at the side bar to check on my placement. When I zone out and just drive, I always do so much better.

In the 4th race (I think) you used soft compound on the Subaru, but when you're racing offroad, its actually better to use a hard compound because it wont flex as much (which is what you want). When you're on asphalt, go ahead and use the soft tires tho

You shouldf've mapped the handbrake to the shift up paddle shifter. Makes it so much easier to use it when you need to
But I need the up shifting paddle, for upshifting.
i always liked to map e-brake to the button on the wheel closest to my right thumb. that way i can yank the brake and still steer with two hands
i just map it on the clutch pedal
If I‘m allowed to give you a small tip;
In the dirt stages getting your car sideways is vital to be quick. You should never be „under control“, obviously dont send it down the whole course full throttle, but once you got the muscle memory for every pacenote down you‘ll achieve amazing times and break a sweat from moving the wheel so much. Also, maybe try lowering the FFB considerably so you can really quickly move the wheel, and the numbers 1 through 6 actually refer to how much you turn the wheel (lookup videos of real life rally-racers explaining)
Helped me a lot, and while im really bad at tarmac tracks nowadays (though i still enjoy some good ol‘ f1) i feel really good in all types of rally games.

I mean it depends. It's different driver per driver. The jemba system is referring to the how much the turn turns. but drivers repurposed it so they know how much they have to turn their wheel by adding stickers on top of the wheel
I normally map my handbrake to the paddle shifters since I don't have a need for the paddles.
you should try it out and tell me how that feels compared to the clutch as a handbrake
get a hshifter handbrake setup the fanatec shifter is really nice

There was one rallycross online match on PC. 4 players. I'm kind of disappointed there isn't lol on in 2020.
FOR HANDBRAKE substitutes, I use the paddle shifters for shifting and I use 4th gear on the shifter as my handbrake so that it's about as close as it gets to the real thing. Just in case you all haven't thought of that

Don't think that zoomed in thing is really necessary, I could read that bar just fine in your other Dirt Rally 2 videos. Otherwise, yeah, nice video. Think the Rallycross would be the most interesting to see more of in multiplayer.
I felt its much easier to see the exact gaps between players. Also, it takes up the same amount of space on the screen which is good. Consider that people may be watching it differently to you and might not be able to see it as well.

It would be cool if people like me with the Oculus version would be able to enjoy multiplayer as well. Codemasters made us a nice gift and despite the fact we have paid an even higher price than the people with the Steam VR version we are not allowed to play any multiplayer whatsoever.

The 1-6 pace note-system is actually based on gears :) sharper corner = lower gear, flatter corner = higher gear
Don't agree. Not all cars have 6 gears for starters. Then it depends on the approach speed too. A 6 will be flat out if there's a straight before it but will be very slow if just after a hairpin. It's purely based on tightness of the turn, nothing else.
Super GT I definitely see what you mean, but the system is only based on gears in theory, not in practice. So a right 6 you could theoretically take in sixffffxhhfhfth gear, but that will of course vary in practice, sometimes you won’t have the speed to do that and sometimes you might want to go slower even if you might be able to go flat out. I think it may well be driver/car/game specific. Many games have many different options, recent DiRT games have this 1-6 system, but from what i know the latest official WRC installment uses 1-8 system. Wouldn't be surprised if many real life rally drivers/codrivers have individual "customised" pace note systems.
The DR1 in-game video tutorials actually explain the system as based on gears, though with the caveat that actual gear selection depends on the context. 4’s are almost never actually 4th gear in my experience.

Online Rally would be much more exciting if competitors were ghosted. Perhaps the option to ghost? I know that's not true to reality, but that argument doesn't hold up. I mean, true to reality would include sitting around your living room for 2-3 hours waiting to run a stage because you happen to be at the end of the running order. For that matter, it would also include finding yourself a real life co-driver. How many elite simracers would be down for a true experience like that? As of now, online and AI Rallies are the exact same experience aside for driver names. And, a practice mode with the ability to rewind would be nice. After all, it's a video game.
I've been thinking the same since i play the game, this absolutely needs real-time ghosts. Hope they considere it for DR3. Maybe the game wouldn't die too fast then

Seems to me in cockpit view you can't really see when there is another car next to you and thus can't react properly to it.
I love Rally because I always use cockpit view and Rally is where it's best. In RC you need to use 3rd person for best positions and awareness... I just can't manage it. I suck at RC.
