R.I.P. Mom (1966-2023) love you. Thanks for showing me '80s movies. My mom grew up as a teen in the 1980's. I was born in 2004. I love classic music from the 1960's to 1990's. I don't listen to the new garbage from this era . I'll admit I do listen to music from the early 2000's to late 2000's. But by far my favorite decade in music, fashion and movies is the 80's. I especially loved the prom and wedding dresses from that era. If I ever get married I want to wear an 80's wedding dress to my wedding.
DJs who dont read music and never studied music are by and large the people making the music ( remixing and sampling and copying) The 80s was the decade that combined the beginning technogy while the still having the older producers that combined musical theory with the technology....that musicality slowly faded away as the technology advanced. 80s was the perfect combination of both . There was great musicality in the 70s There was great music in the 90s. but the 80s had the best of both worlds. Nothing will ever top the 80s. EVER.
Fun fact: this was originally recorded with Debbie Harry but due to contractual problems with her record label her voice tracks had to be replaced with E.G. Daily's. Despite this, you can still hear Harry's backing vocals in the echo portion at 2:48 (slowed and pitched down to sound more like Daily). Harry's original track can be found here czcams.com/video/kZ6e_U0oz8Q/video.html While Harry's is far more nuanced, this wasn't for a cyberpunk action flick and I think Daily's raspier version suits the mischief of the movie better.
