EA has officially put an end to work on the Dead Space franchise after the 2023 remake failed to reach revenue expectations. The Dead Space remake was met with a ton of critical acclaim, and was lauded by fans of the franchise as a near perfect remake, but due to "underwhelming sales", the franchise has again been shelved with developer Motive moving on to work on projects including the Iron Man game and the next entry in the Battlefield franchise.

Such a beautiful remake. Sucks some won’t give games a chance if it’s not 80+ hours.
I'm a simple man, I see EA or [insert AAA publisher here] on the box, I boot that shit from my shopping cart.
AAA has certainly had some struggles in recent years, but I love Dead Space. I’m not against AAA entirely, but they need to get their act together in a lot of cases.

@@DirectGamingYT Can't really comment much on Deadspace. I tried it out when it first released but since horror games / movies have zero effect on me I didn't get a whole lot out of it. From what I've heard from fans of the first game the series started out as a unique and challenging horror experience and turned into a forgettably random action game. The same story as with most other EA IPs: The first entry was the best, the second was alright and everything after that is a soulless cash grab.
When making a remake, do they need to make a huge profit? Why. They already cashing in when they remake it and sale it again.
They do not need a huge budget nor a huge team just to remake it. The product is already there, no need to plan how to make it from scratch/zero. The layout its already out and they only need to make some changes in the play experience.
Argh, EA os such a trash bin company. I really wish people would stop buying dumb ass Madden Ultimate Team packs so EA gets the hint

This news makes me sad. Oh well. All good things come to an end. We got 3 great games (including the remake) and 1 mediocre game out of a 3 game franchise. Not too shabby. I enjoyed them all. Maybe remake was released too close to the RE remakes but there was no real way for them to avoid that.
And the EA search for live service get all the money always Valhalla continues.

Im sorry EA but its not like you created a new GAME it was simply a remake and somehow you made the story worst (not by a lot but still a worst story and characters overall)

The reason i didnt buy it is because EA. But also its too expensive for a remake and dealing with an online only, no thanks
wasn't a fan of any of the writing changes that were made in the deadspace remake, and was only okay with a few of the minor gameplay additions, so for me its sort of a blessing, in the future there might be another attempt, hoping for something new in the franchise instead of just a remake of a game that you can still play

@@battleax10 yeah but that’s where you are wrong. Sales don’t mean it was bad. It got generally 9/10 or 4/5 by most reviewers, if you didn’t like it that’s on you, no need to make some bullshit up to tarnish the hard work Motive put into the game.
