It is absolutely insane because from a very young man I always thought that once I was able to afford a Kimber I would have reached the top and I wanted to be able to buy a Kimber more than anything. The very first 1911 Kimber I bought pretty sure a tear may have came down my eye in the range or at least that’s what my wife tells me, because after having ran 400+ rounds of the hottest ammunition, I could find at Kimber‘s request the gun was still not reliable. It would still fail to feed, stove pipe and would fail to go fully back into battery. Since then I have purchased a Kimber micro And a KHX both of which were not as bad, but still was unreliable and very ammo picky. I vowed that I would never buy another Kimber product thus the reason I never bought the new KD. it’s a fact that Kimber has reliability issues and horrible. Customer customer service likely the worst I’ve ever saw.

It's a tricky situation. The customer didn't buy the gun from Kimber, so he's not Kimber's customer, he is the engraver's customer.
I don't know if Kimber's warranty is transferable though.
If it is, then Kimber should fix it, because it's clear that the engraving didn't cause the mechanical issue.
If the warranty isn't transferable, then it's just like buying any other secondhand gun. The last person who sold it was the engraver, so they are responsible.

@thepenultimateninja5797 So the engraving company that bought the firearm might have violated the warranty themselves. If the engraving company put in the claim as "the owner" the engraving may be considered altering the firearm. I agree that the engraver should help the customer. The store stated will help the customer by getting a qualified gunsmith. Moral of the story, if it's not stock, check all parties involved. BTW I don't think Kimber's warranties are transferable. Thank you very much for watching, greatly appreciate it!

This is the gun stores problem. They should've warned the customer

@michaelakin9649 Actually, it's not the shop's fault. Gun store didn't anything to do with the individual companies' warranties. If anything, the engraving company should help the customer because they bought the firearms from Kimber and violated Kimber's warranty policy. Thanks for your opinion. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!

The engraver got a ton of shavings in the interior of the gun. You effed up.
