Lucy's voice is absolutely flawless, of course some people prefer singers to have imperfections that's fine that's their own artistic choice. But technically her performance is truly incredible by any standards, and if there's any justice she should over the next few years become an international superstar.

@@tomwhite4736We know this is not a live recording of the vocal, however Lucy is definitely singing. You cannot mime those higher notes and as any vocal coach will tell you singing those notes which require the tongue inside the mouth to produce the sound ie the L in words such as Love, is difficult to replicate soundless. Try it yourself.
@@tomwhite4736 That’s exactly what I said however having spoken to Lucy she doesn’t lip sync or mime. She sings during the video recording, the audio is not recorded and the best video is married to the studio audio recording. Lucy’s breath control has regularly been praised by those whose knowledge of such is better than mine and I suspect yours, I don’t know your background. Her throat movements therefore may not be as one might expect. I know this is industry standard, sadly. If you listen to any analysis by Fil at Wings of Pegasus he confirms on a regular basis the sad state of the present music industry. At least with Lucy and perhaps with Angelina although I’m not a fan, you are hearing genuine quality singing however it is portrayed.
Old info. She went 20 on Feb. 21 this year. Hallelujah has 47M views now and this one got 1M in 3 weeks. BTW all her songs are gems. She had her 1st public concert last March 5 in Manchester: 5 of the 17 songs on CZcams by now (search Lucy Thomas live in CZcams). She's the best. She nails them all.

Brit Pops, you have arguably the best solo performer on the Planet in England! ANY concert she would perform at here in the United States will be SOLD OUT in 24 hours or less........guaranteed! If you need to buy tickets at a certain time, then for folks across the Planet.......be prepared to set your alarm any time in the VERY early morning........otherwise, you snooze.........you lose!!
Sometimes artists are better known outside their home country as they are inside... And I think Lucy is one of them. I follow her since 4 years now (I live in the Netherlands) and I have so much respect for her. As other young artists she had to combine music, vocal training, performances and school, homework. Wo do not often think about that detail "school and homework", aren't we? This is a very gifted lady with one of the purest and warmest voices I know (20 years old Amira Willighagen is the other). And this year Lucy (she is, as Amira is, 20 years of age) is going full throttle: last March concert in Manchester, in September concert in Japan, in October concert in Westend (London) AND the musical Rosie will also start this year. Lucy plays the main character in that musical. Yes, she is a busy lady....
Which did I like best of the three, WOW, tough call. I went back and listened to the other two again. Although I love Angelina, I'd put her third due to the number of inflections she adds. The Righteous Brothers solo also has some inflections but just the right amount at the right time. Lucy has nearly none but her tone and clarity are perfect. Even though I'd prefer to listen to the Righteous Brothers (lower tone), if I were a judge I'd give the #1 nod to Lucy. Just my opinion.

I dont know which Angelina performance , you listened to .She has several all live . If you viewed the recent live nobel peace prize event performance , then you should be aware of the circumstances of that performance . It was a intentionally restrained and sombre performance befitting the event. A tribute to Narges muhammadi nobel prize winner.Who is serving a long prison sentence in Iran , for refusing to wear the higab and for calling for freedom of expression for women. A perfect song and performance for that tribute . Not a time for a pop song performance .

Lucy is simply stunning in every way. The best singer on the planet.
She hit the full range effortlessly......no straining whatsoever. Her presence, control, and body language also signaled an air of total confidence and control......which IMHO made the entire presentation of the performance even that much more appealing. I give her a 10 on this one without question. All of us that follow her already knew what kind of voice and potential she possesses, so that part was almost a given.

Great reaction guys. Lucy’s voice is so pure that she is able to stick very close to the original and often improve it. She has perfect breath control and because of this she is able to extend and hold notes and still have the ability to add a touch of vibrato to the end of the note. Because of this she doesn’t need to rely on vocal gymnastics to try and disguise imperfections in her pitch, as I think some artists do. Lucy’s lower register is the best I have ever heard, and I am from the era of Karen Carpenter who also had an amazing lower register, yet her high notes are equally as impressive and crystal clear as she transitions between them with such ease. Lucy is a phenomenon whose voice can make you feel both warm and chilled at the same time. ❤

Loved it. Not only does she have an amazing voice, but she did a phenomenal job of staying true to the melody of the song. In my humble opinion, some cover artists try to reproduce the song exactly as it was done by the original artists while others may add so much of their own style that the song loses a portion of its appeal. Well Gentlemen welcome back to the Lucy Thomas world of music. I must say that you chaps have missed out on several number 10 recordings from Lucy’s past. Try her version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, “Evergreen”, “Whiter Shade of Pale”. Just to mention few. All released in the past year. Great reaction by the way. As you can hear Lucy is in my opinion the best technical vocalist around today. Also she has a very large following in the US as well as the rest of the world. You guys should be very proud of her. What a voice. Please stay safe, healthy, and most importantly free.

The song was originally wrote for a 1940's prison Movie titled Chained this song was sung by the main Character while he was thinking of life on the outside hence Unchained Melody.

i live just outside her home town of Wigan and have asked many a person if they know of a singer named Lucy Thomas most haven’t it’s a sad fact, most of her fans seem to live abroad.

I'm a fan of both Angelina Jordan and lucy Thomas. I have to say I don't think this song can be done any better than this. The 2 of them are running neck and neck as far as being the best young singer out there AJ in the US by way of Norway and LT in England but don't worry there's plenty of room at the top for both of them.
Beautiful rendition of this song .Bobby Hatfields version has always been my favourite until now .And Now Lucy owns it No one is even close. Lucy at 20 is now hands down the best female vocalist out there. Pure beautiful voice ,Amazing breath control ,Vibrato to die for her lower register is just amazing and Warm and she makes everything she sings look effort less. Lucy has a busy year ahead of her I read she is off to Dallas in August then next stop concert in Tokyo in Sept. Preview of her Musical later in the year and the Musical proper opening in London early next year. I subscribed to your channel when you reviewed Lucy sometime ago. But when you gave her 7.5 out of 10 and said she wasn´t even in AJ´s league which was rubbish I immediately unsubscribed. However that was the past and things move on and this is a good reaction so I give you a thumbs up and I will subscribe again if you continue reacting to Lucy there are 6 Albums on here Channel to choose from they are all great. "John Prine and Iris Dement - In Spite Of Ourselves (Live From Sessions at West 54th)" (by the channel: John Prine) --This song is from Prine's album by the same name "In Spite of Ourselves" released in 1999. The album is a collection of duets that Prine did with other female singers. John Prine is a singer/songwriter of country-folk music. He is widely respected as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation.

Lucy is a fabulous studio singer. As good as Angelina Jordan but I wouldn't know if she'd be as good as a busker?
About seven months ago you two reacted to the Thomas sisters singing 'oh holy night'. You dismissed Lucy Thomas by saying that Angelina was on a completely different level, remember? Which drew this response from me..."Angelina's on a different level alright soft lad. She's about eight or nine levels below Lucy Thomas. You silly bleeders wouldn't know a truly great singer if she walked up and smacked you in the face". I haven't seen anything to change my mind, have you?
@pertwee9376...I agree with you 100%. These guys were critical of Lucy and iffy in their comments about her. I was shocked when they first reacted to her and ho hummed about her singing finding nothing to really pick on but they scored her very low and meanwhile salivated for you know who (you know, the current overrated one you mention above that people like to compare Lucy to). Well, as you and I already know, Lucy is in another league head and shoulders above all the current generation's wanna be competitors. So far, no-one has managed to reach the very high bar that Lucy has established.

@@tomwhite4736 Hi Tom...I am not a big fan of comparing two singers. What I don't understand is your persistence with the live performance comments. Lucy has already proven and shown that she can perform live just as well as if not better than her studio recordings. Besides, now most videos of live performances are post-processed and pitch corrected in editing. That includes remastered digital versions of many of the classics from the past according to the technical reactor Phil at 'Wings of Pegasus' who has been studying this new trend for a while now. The only true live performances are those that we attend in person. Everything else is suspect.
