When you're in FLOW and happy the magic starts to happen.
You have to check out this video to see and hear what I mean.
So how do you get in the flow?
Certainly helps to have a brother like Kevin backing you up
with a lush carpet of solid swinging rhythm.
BUT the ideas I come up with in this performance are things that
I've worked on for years and are in my system. It's when you're
happy and in the flow that they can come out in all their beauty.
We played 3 tunes on this impromptu session in front of the camera
and I was playing Leo Eimers' new archtop guitar which he had brought
for me to test drive. Kevin plays on his Eimers D hole guitar.
We chose Paquito for our last tune (all 1 takes) and by then we were relaxed
and happy.
Paquito is a wicked tune to play and is one of the tunes which is has really caught on in the Gypsy Jazz scene recently. It's a tune you should learn and play with your band
or jam mates to add something fresh and hip to your repertoire.
Enjoy!

Coming back to watch this again and again for 8 years. The magic never diminishes, although the chords and harmony certainly do!
after several yers I still cannot go very long without re-listening to this. so fine!!
That what i love about my man Robin, hes all about good feel, u cant go wrong with that
Robin, I'm standing on the street corner giving my guitars away, after hearing your outstanding performance on that beautiful electric jazzbox!
Oh.don’t do that Charles! Stay inspired and start swinging! 🎸💕🙏Robin
Great Robin you are the master❤️
too kind Willem thanks!
Well, I guess I could spend the rest of my years doing nothing but watching and listening to the infinite items on You Tube and still not see everything. Robin, I've been with you (your teachings) for awhile now and I just came across this. Outstanding!! With Kevin holding down the solid rhythm and you using the fretboard as a canvass to create a kaleidoscope of colors - awesome!! I also really like what you wrote in your comment section. Thanks!!
Very good
Oh yeah, "das is ooze". Beautiful. great rhythm work groovin'.
Superb!
Sweet! Damn nice playing by both players.
yeahh...!! wonderfully played
Robin, it's so fine to see you doing what you do - I've finally figured out how to hear and watch you play for yourself through a whole song. And it was well worth the search - I should have found this much sooner:) You and Brother Kevin sound great together! The playing is simply sublime and your touch on the electric is as wonderful as it is on the acoustic. In the flow indeed!
Nice job Kevin...Solid rhythm work.
Outstanding..I loved it...More please
Just beautiful!
Two of the very best...If there were two who understood each other in playing it is the two brothers here...Have listened to much of the two of them performing...The term "playing off of each other" is out of date with them. They are so in synch...They are ahead of synch....
Cool Daddio! ‘Really looking forward to beginning my ‘Gypsy Jazz Transfusion ‘ with you Robin, starting in a couple of weeks after returning our road trip across Spain.

Robin.....this track is really AMAZING!!!!
Fantastic mood on a Hollowbody, not the right guitar for Gipsy, but you are a genius!!!
Love from Milan
Fabio
"not the right guitar for gypsy" ... that statement is really stupid. it is so full of dumb cliche, limiting idea and depending on the point of view even racist. in case you dont mean it in that way, try to use phrases like "not a typical guitar for a gipsy style". could we all please try to make youtube more educated?
in case you want to start a discussion, i'll end it before it starts: Django used the electric guitar several of times.
Woh! Nice 👍
