    Synopsis of the book:
Nature is full of examples that are not only unique but also perfect. This book connects readers to the common elements of Nature and makes them marvel at their unique functionalities.
There are 5 chapters dedicated to each of the following:
=) Superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning ability of lotus leaf,
    =) Adhesion in gecko’s foot
    =) Antireflection of moth’s eye,
=) Iridescent colours of morpho butterfly wings
    =) Tough and strong silk
The theme that transcends across all chapters is the nanostructured hierarchical organisation, the structural art that Nature masters. It is shown in the book that it is this attribute that imparts the various functionalities. The book arouses curiosity in readers to ponder and know how the above-mentioned examples achieve their unique functionality and perfection.
The reader is forced to question - ‘what is the mystery behind these’. As the name of the book suggests, it takes readers to the bottom and slowly unravels the science behind each of these. This book is designed for all age groups above 13 years or 8th standard.
This book is not an ordinary textbook. If you see the example chapter of the book attached, you will see the following unique elements of the book-
Lots of pictorial information: Explanation of all technical terms and concepts with examples Information for both kinds of readers - visual and textual, pattern seekers and detail-seeking Relevance in real life
All chapters are equipped with a section called ‘to ponder further’, which leaves a sense of ‘need to read and know more’. Three kinds of content have been beautifully integrated in this book - technical content and reasoning, basics and conceptual details and fun facts. Conceptual details have been boxed as "Nerd zone". The chapters have been sequenced to bring out the contrasting examples together. For example - superhydrophobicity of lotus leaf and adhesion of gecko’s foot.
Special Note about the Book: This book was published by Vigyan Prasar and was released by the Hon'ble Vice President of India in the august presence of Principal Scientific Advisor, GoI and Secretary, DST.
