AUGMENTED AND VIRTUAL REALITY PLASTIC SURGERY

The advancement of medical technology is constantly changing how we operate during plastic and reconstructive surgery. Artificial intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality all have the potential to make diagnosis and treatment of surgical issues quicker, safer, more accurate and with better outcomes. Two of these modalities are demonstrated here. Virtual reality and augmented reality helped our team restore a young female back to normal after suffering a devastating facial injury. We look forward to continuing to work with the tech industry and our colleagues at Surgical Theater and PonceAi to progress artificial intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality across medical specialties with the goal of providing better medical and surgical care than ever before.
