Resellers are not scum. They are providing a service to the people who can't or refuse to go do the legwork themselves. Most of the people who buy the resold items are very happy they can just click, buy, and wait for their item. SCALPERS are the scumbags... period.

yeah and buying it all in bulk all the time instead of a couple of games now and then so you can actually enjoy time with them before the next pickup :( collecting now is just depressing. I love gaming but the collecting to play side is dead now...i looked at Chrono trigger which i had a few years ago for £50 is now sitting at £500 plus in the uk

Its silly to gripe about resellers, when its part of collecting. I collect arcade games, and I sell machines from time to time to fund the next purchase, often at a higher price because its gone up in value. It is what it is. And Rick is a businessman. Its what businessmen do.
Personally these people who say these dumb comments I bet you aren't fans or even subscribers of the channel, they just want to hate just to spread hate. I hope these people just get the help they need.

The way I see the reselling thing is that, as you said, it is helping people pay other people to accomplish things. I also look at it as resellers helping the community. For example, when you go to those swap meets or someone else goes to some other local community in-person event to buy/sell games, you are then taking what was in a small local community and putting it out online to possibly sell. If people didn't do things like that, then that game that a collector has been hunting for may not find it ever, if not for resellers. Thank you to all resellers!
The arcade joystick for the SNES I believe was sold by a company that custom made them & advertised them on magazines like EGM & Gamepro. This was circa 1992-1993, the “SFII” was to not use the name of the game to avoid copyright infringement with CAPCOM. I’ll see if I find the ad but I’m about 95% it was sold as such.

I think some of the reseller hate stems from how people get radicalized about anything online. What I mean by that is as a kid I grew up in flea markets and garage sales because my mom had a store where she resold things, and sometimes I'd even be like "damn reseller" but it was never because I thought what they were doing was wrong, but more of a "damn you beat me to it". It was just some envy that it made it harder for me to find stuff sometimes. Online, people can take that "damn you beat me to the deal!" and turn it into "you're a bad person". Ultimately reselling is great, think about how many things of any category would be thrown away if they weren't put back into the market by resellers, people that hate resellers are just mad that they're not getting something for far less than it's worth, I get it, thrift stores and flea markets used to be better, I miss it too, you'd definitely find more deals at least in my area, but it's not right to hate on the resellers, and it's DEFINITELY not right to take the Lord's name in vain to push your envy, greed, and hate.

Platoon was in that age of games where you had zero idea what you were doing, where to go, what the objectives were. You did your best and just gave up. Platoon on the NES almost captures the essence of the movie in that war is chaotic hell.
Also my dad fought in the ‘Nam. When I showed him this game.....he grew very silent. Turned to me and basically said this is “exactly” how it was.

The video game community is a microcosmic glimpse / experience of that which is why it’s so inviting; imagine a community where we can just be our imperfect selves yet still be loved and welcomed. Regardless of whether you believe in god or not (I'm agnostic, but I respect all of the religions and often research and study them), it's just not morally right to shit on someone's livelihood. I'm glad rick got his channel back, and I hope the person who commented that about him gets their payback in full for kicking a man when he's down like that. There is a reason all of you (from pixel game squad to phoenix resale to retro rick to CATRP etc) have quickly become my favorite content creators as of late. You guys show that you can experience joy like a child on Christmas no matter how old you are. You can tell that you all have hearts of gold and that you are genuinely nice people (even when you're taking jabs at each other at the swap meets lol).

I'm not a huge fan of reselling myself, but the argument against resellers is kind of like being mad at farmers for growing food and (re)selling it for people to eat. Darn those pesky farmers markets and grocery stores.
