I remember Alfred still working in Par in 1976/7 before he went to Bugle. I was the first fireman to take Alfred down to Bodmin Parkway on the B&WR [we ran out of water on the way back] Sad that Alfred is now sidelined and there are no plans to overhaul him, now that Judy is available. Not so dissimilar to Par dockyard I guess.
Rich Lee I'm guessing the cabs are roomier than they look? They seem quite low down to the rail, so I'd assume there's some headroom. At least one of them runs, but I can't imagine Judy hauling full sized MkI coaches without her "husband"
nice video are the pair on lone to Pontypoon and Blaenavon, because I can remember them being originally painted orange, called Bill and Ben and they both stayed on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway
Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway; anyway they wen't built for speed.Small locos like these were used to haul coal trains between pits, docks and power stations along narrow valleys and winding lines.
Absolutely superb Mike, that shot at the end running alongside 9466 was something else......10/10....Bob
Excellent Mike. I to must say what a great shot of 9466 from your train is. Great footage. All the best.
Do you have to be short to drive these?
I saw those Port of Par twins at Swanage, but I didn't see much of them, so thanks for this. Dan
Can I use some of this footage in a video that I am making?

Awesome railfan video
I wonder if these were based off the characters Bill and Ben the tank engine twins
Other way around buddy
Was it bill or ben
Glad you enjoyed the show here in Wales.........Are you in Holland ?...I used to work for a Dutch company ( for 35yrs )
Mike now retired
is there a reason to alfred having lining below the front cab windows but not judy?
You'll need to ask the owners that question; sorry I'm only the cameraman!

it's fine, thanks for letting me know.
have a good day sir.
the other claypit twins
Good to see my comment in the wild
Why do these have short cabs compared with other 0-4-0's?
i know im VERY late to reply but its due to the low bridges at the port of par
Does anyone know how fast these engines can go?
Maybe Google will tell you, or look on the Railways Web Pages
R.I.P. I tried Google before I turned to CZcams with no luck. Which railway web pages exactly?

They can go 35-45 MPH
They are nade that way for low clearances.
