I think there's very likely going to be a p2w breakpoint eventually, also because it's f2p. Question is how far into the progress and how much impact it has.
sorta, cant buy power but can buy currency to buy other currency to use in the player auction, iirc though. i think they did say something about changing that but idk

It is pay to win. Anyone not telling you it’s pay to win is either the devs or they are getting paid to make content about the game
According to the launcher, launch time for NA is UTC-7 11:00 (LA (PST) time 0800. Not sure why they wrote it this way but it looks to me like 8am PST/11am EST. Problem is, this throws everything off by an hour as we are on daylight saving time. So, maybe it will end up being 7AM in the West and 10AM in the East. Beats me. Makes no real difference anyway. We'll get in when we get in. Cheers! I hope folks enjoy.

Biggest problem i have with it is their is no sense of progression with how youre character looks big mistake in my opinion its the reason alot of people play mmos is to get that sick looking gear

@@justsaying3176 50% of the cosmetics u get while playing the game and they look very good there are a lot of videos on youtube where people showcase the cosmetics and what u have to do to get them so in the end u have some form of visible progression cause u can get weapon skins mounts and character skins if u do raids on elite etc.

Asian f2p mmo are typically heavily p2w. I think it's fine to try out this game for fun, but I would definitely advise against anything serious

Tarisland is basically Chinese WoW because it got shut down there if I'm remembering correctly. So if its reminding you of WoW then they are doing a good job.

Bard can spec heal or dps. For tanks there is warrior paladin and the barbarian

the only p2w aspect is a boost in lvling ppl with catch up in a week theres no p2w in pvp because it all scales

Any free game is worth trying, most of the time. Im a big mmo fan so ill be checking it out. Pay to win aspects i do not support, both in principle and through my wallet. But rarely do they even enter my experience when playing games.
Usually p2w really annoys pvp folks, and i just dont play that aspect of games. I also dont get sucked into cosmetics and p4con bs. So lots of that stuff in games never affects me , but its scummy and awful none the less.
What kills mmos and rpgs for me is lack of visual progression, RNG upgrade systems, gacha systems. If rng upgrades arent overly monetized and you can progress just by playing then thats ok but that is very rare. Ive never given money to a f2p game, but ive also never played a f2p for more than a couple weeks. So we'll see where this one lands. Content is King, and Fun Rules All!
Eq2 origins, just launched yesterday. Not much pvp tho. Fresh old school pve mmo with voice acting, quite polished

I see here all this ppl frustrated with NW and because of that Duke has to justify himself of covering a release of a new MMO. Literally 95% of your audience have zero knowledge about tarisland and agree that tarisland is a no go when as a f2p chinese MMO its not heavely p2w as the latest changes to the p2w features show.
legit a copy of wow that got shutdown on china last year or so but still its f2p and as is today its pay for progress and legit has more content end game than NW had and has atm. 3raids with 3 different dificulties is hands down for a release

Its as much p2w as wow is with the wow token. On tarisland you can buy the shop currency and sell it for ingame gold. Ofc there is and advantage on that but at least you are not able to buy gear or other items that enhance your char directly in the ingame shop. Its sure a p2w but as a f2p game is not that agressive
I just hope it wont be a p2w fest and rather keep the p2w minimal. Im fine with skins or house cosmetics n all that like new world does but p2w would be a deal breaker and would also let me quit later on
