Unboxing and unpacking my Pleasant Company childhood collection from the early years of American Girl of Today!
I had a lot of items from this line from my childhood and I wanted to share it all with you. These items have been loved and show some age but are mostly complete and I had fun going through the items with new eyes. I filmed this a while ago, but wanted to film it not only to show you, but so I can look back and see these are the pieces from my childhood!

That ballet outfit is so completely gorgeous! I love the detail on the bodice, the snaps and the way the wings attach. So very Pleasant Company quality! The Mini Mrs AG Bear is adorable! The math book is so cool. I love that you were a Girl Scout for so long. I was a Blue Bird for a year and then quit. I was very good at quitting things. :) I have the Cargo Plaid outfit and I used to have the original Coconut (the hard "paper weight" one like yours) and a bunch of his accessories, including his basket and K-9 Krunchies. :) I also used to have the Twilight Outfit along with the purse, headband and little compact that fit in the purse. Right before I sold it, the strap on the purse snapped and all of the little beads came off. I was happy it did that before I sold it instead of after so the buyer knew what they were getting. I was able to gather all of the beads up and put them in a baggie. :) Thanks for sharing all of these lovely items!!
That's so cool we had some of the same sets! The ballet outfit is a fav of mine! So detailed! They would never make something quite like it now I don't think.

The bear slippers came with the pink snooze nightshirt that had little letters and mail all over it. 😊
They did but I never had that growing up! So idk if they were given to me by someone else or what! (I purchased it now) but I never had it before! 🤣
That was such a fun video! It was really neat to see your childhood collection. This makes me want to find and separate out all my childhood items too. I best this was a fun nostalgia trip for you. Brilliant!
I'd love to see it! I think it's so neat to think about what has survived this long too! Definitely you should go through and find what's yours just from childhood too!
Yup, the first day meet came with the black velvet flats. I don’t have my original teal socks. I was so happy to get replacements!

I've been so excited for this video and it did not disappoint! I hadn't seen most of these pieces and it was so fun to see them up close. It's impressive just how well these all held up. Sometimes I wonder if the AG brand items I buy now will last me this long. I guess we shall see! I kind of want that poolside plaid outfit now.. the clothes back then were just made different. Amazing video as always!! ❤❤❤
Aww thanks! They were just made so different and I feel like more variety too. Like looking at the color palette of the outfits even I have it's way more colors than the outfits now a days. After editing this video I want to go back and use some of these pieces more! I feel like I just am always excited to use the "new" stuff because it's "new" but I shouldn't sleep on some of the stuff I've had for forever

Thanks for sharing your collection. My daughter had many of the same items and I enjoy seeing her daughters play with some of these items today as they build their own American Girl collection..I hope you continue to build new memories as you rediscover your collection and American Girl today

The Girl Scout shirt actually has tiny GS printed on it, not flowers. I had the girl-sized version when I was in Juniors! And also you could’ve worn it as well considering you are only two years behind me. Uniforms didn’t change that fast! Plus it was totally acceptable to wear vintage GS uniforms anyway. My Brownie dress was a hand me down from the 1980s.

I found the Year 2000 accessories at a thrift store the other day and my favorite item is the noisemaker. Great video! I love all the old items. The Twilight Outfit is adorable!

I did not have any AG dolls as a kid, I was too old when they came out, I collected MA dolls, but as an adult AG doll collector I do have almost all
of These same outfits that you had. I do not have the first ballerina outfit but it is on my wish list. I love❤love❤ the turquoise dance set and have all the pieces including the matching bag. It is such a great set!! I’m too am a big fan of the snowball set and I think it is pretty how some people hate it so, I don’t see it. LOL
I'm not sure what it is that people don't like - I'm thinking the materials? Idk but I love the snowball outfit!

I didn't know Coconut was a boy at First. I remember coconut and Licorice were paperweights they stayed put and never left my doll's side
I didn't realize coconut is a girl now until recently because the dog used to be a boy when it first came out! Haha but yes a paperweight for sure! So heavy!
You are so fortunate! I could only dream of having these items as a kid and going to the Chicago store when it debuted! While I was blessed with a few dolls, most of what I had for them was homemade….which was great, but I would’ve loved some more of the catalogue outfits, too. I’ve more than made up for it now and have purchased a lot of what I wanted then. 😂❤
I don’t have the snowball sweater yet, though, and I loved looking at that in the catalogue as a kid. It’s so pretty!
I saved a lot of any money I got to buy things myself and most of my presents from family were AG things.
I was fortunate that by the time I started to "age" out was when there were more kids than just me and my brother on that side of the family so I was spoiled when it was just us 2 definitely.
I’d love to see what you had for the historical dolls, too. My mom definitely had a preference for them, so anything I did get was historical related. Except for the violin set, since I took lessons, and the girl-sized AGOT sleeping bag, everything I got was historical.

Coconut in a West Highland (westie) terrier, but Maltese are definitely similar.
I figured he wasn't the same breed but looks similar enough for my mom to have picked him for me hehe
