- It's that time - we've accumulated enough "new" stuff to warrant a video. I got a few things that had been living on my wish list for a while. Sometimes you just have to be patient until the price is right ;-) Anyway, I appreciate you joining me and hope you enjoy seeing all the amazing doll goodies we've gotten recently.

Facts. And did you see I got an answer about the straps? They apparently cross in the back. Doh!
I don’t have Kits overalls but most always overall straps are meant to cross cross in the back. I have several handmade pair of overalls for my dolls and they all cross cross in the back. Plus I remember when I wore them as a kid the criss cross also helps keep the straps from falling off the shoulder while working and bending over :)
Yes, I have learned something new today. I NEVER had my straps cross in the back, nor did I do this for either of my kids, so it didn't even occur to me. But apparently the rest of the world knew what I didn't lol (and I'm so glad you all shared the solution!!)

Great video. The flapper outfit is gorgeous! The chicken coop set is super cute too. I don’t collect accessories so much. Mainly for space reasons. I love the dolls and having outfit changes though. It is nice to have the occasional larger piece to display dolls to make a theme. Thanks for sharing your new purchases with us!

Yes, apparently the rest of the doll collecting world knows about crossing the straps lol. I genuinely appreciate everyone giving me the solution but it makes me wonder how it didn't occur to me in the first place ;-) Then again, my own overalls never did that and I never once did that with either of my kiddos' overalls, so I just didn't think about it. I don't do it with Kit's other overalls and they fit fine. Anyway, learn something new every day, right? I'm glad it was such an easy "fix".

I tend to have Maryellen wear her Rockin’ Roller Skating Outfit without her crinoline mainly because I forget to put it on her! I do think the dress looks just as cute and full without the crinoline!

I like the idea of crossing the straps in the back. I hope AG wouldn’t make such a big mistake in the length of the straps! After that, I would sew the buttons in a better position.
I love the Flapper Costume! My 58 wears clothes for Addy and for Claudie (in addition to modern clothes). I like the Flapper Costume better than the Harlem Fashion Row collection. My 58 wears it for Halloween.
Yeah... hindsight 20-20 crossing the straps should've occurred to me lol. I like both the HFR and the flapper costume. But now I need to put the flapper outfit on Claudie.
I have 4 kids and have always loved overalls, I always crossed them in the back with the exception of OshKosh. When you showed the back view I thought it looked strange.
Yep. So many ppl have pointed out they're supposed to cross that I'm wondering how I overlooked that lol. But neither my nor my kiddos' overalls ever did that so it didn't occur to me. Thanks!

Yup, the flapper dress is supposed to be attached on both sides. One of the few Halloween costumes I actually have! Love it.
I thought so - that's an easy enough fix. I've got grey thread :-)
1. AG should have made all the necklaces with magnets!! I got Molly's 1944 swimsuit this fall, and was surprised and delighted to find her shell necklace be magnetic. I broke Kailey's bracelet clasp when trying to put it back on her, after getting her back from the doll hospital. 😢 But in the end, I ended up with almost all of her collection. 😂 It's even worse for male collectors, seenig we typically have bigger figers than you ladies, and trying to get in the tight spot under the dolls chin to avoid the hair isn't fun!!
2. Very cool that you got the historical stuff still in the box. I wonder if they just collected the stuff for no reason?? I know some people every year will go to Hallmark every ornament release and buy practically 1 of everything and then box it all away in storage...doesn't make sense to me as to why you would buy it but never take it out and display it and enjoy it.
3. Thats so cool about Kits overalls!! Prior to this year we didn't have any of her overall outfits. We were big about getting the classic collection for the historical characters, especially the outfits that went with the 6-books, but never got her Hobo outfit before it retired. Was really bummed about how much it goes for now, and never thought I'd actually own it, but then I saw a seller on eBay downsizing her collection, but it was what ever outfit she had on the doll, not always the meet outfit. Any hue...she had BeForever Kit in the summer outfit and was only charging $115 for each doll!! 😮 The cool thing was that BF Kit has shorter hair than the original, so it wasn't like we got a double of the exact same doll. The only thing that was bad was her boots, but we already had them as they also went with another outfit. But the outfit itself was great, even came with a basic doll stand. (Interesting find: when comparing the boots, I noticed the new ones we got had the AGOT logo on the bottom of the soles, on shoes from the historical collection. Lol!) 😊
Thanks for mentioning Molly's swimsuit - I knew we had other AG jewelry with magnetic clasps but couldn't think of examples.
Great haul! I love that chicken keeping outfit. I don’t own nor really plan to buy Kit but I love a cute pair of overalls and fell in love with her hobo outfit. I got it with the boots for about $70 a couple of months. Most I’ve spent so far on an AG outfit but I’m glad I have it. 😊
That hobo outfit was one of the first I ever bought. I bought it for my wife when I was in my "supportive spouse" phase (you know, before the current "full on collector" version lol). It was a pretty good deal and TOTALLY worth it. If I could only have one of her overalls outfit it's probably the one I'd pick because the overalls go with everything!
Okay, I have to admit I’m jealous of the deal you got on that chicken keeping outfit! It’s a grail outfit for me for sure. But in the meantime I have her other two overall sets to enjoy. Luca looks so freaking cute!

Absolutely wild finds, and I saw in the comments that you're actually trading one (ONE!) of your 45s for an 11, and - I am so happy for you, first and foremost, but also mildly envious. That's so awesome that you were able to first get another 45 and then potentially get an 11. So happy for you! Also love that you got the chicken keeping outfit! Yeah, the 11 we're getting isn't perfect (some discoloration around one eye and probably just needs her eyes completely replaced, but she will be lovely, the price was right, and the agtuber I'm trading with is someone I like, so that makes it even better.

Unboxing videos are so fun! It's like we're hanging out together while you open stuff. Everything was great but the flapper outfit is fabulous. The new doll rocked the outfit. I bet Claudie would too.
I'm so glad it feels that way. I try not to tease or build up too much anticipation because I personally don't like to be kept waiting lol. And yes...I need to put Claudie in that flapper outfit!

Love the Maryellen skating dress, too. Melody has claimed it here. I usually pair a coordinating cardigan over it, and I do put the crinoline under.
Yes, apparently I'm the only doll collector alive that didn't know about crossing the straps in back lol. But I swear I never once did that to my own OR my kiddos' overalls and her other two don't need that, so it just didn't occur to me. I'm so glad the solution is so simple! And thanks for the input about using the crinoline under Maryellen's dress. I figured but wanted to know for sure.
I think the original black and white Barbie swimsuit was in the opening when Barbie was a giant! Lol.

You got so many wonderful items! That magnetic closure on the necklace is too cool. I don't remember that on any other jewelry. I would leave the chicken keeping overalls as-is and tuck the back, just because it's a hard to find outfit. At first I thought maybe they were supposed to criss-cross to take up the slack, but that wouldn't make sense either. So strange. So apparently the straps on the chicken-keeping outfit cross in the back. And apparently 98% of AG collectors knew this...but not yours truly lol. At any rate, I'm glad it's such a simple solution. And now I'm going to have to think about whether we've had other magnetic-closure AG jewelry. I feel like "yes" but I can't remember which ones. I'm glad you enjoyed the video (and our second 45, who I actually AM going to trade for an 11, as it turns out!!)
@@agtakesover Oh, wow, so it does criss-cross after all. The only reason I thought of that was because, back in about 1985 (I was 14), my brother and his girlfriend Stacey (they were 18) took me to a teen dance party at a local club. Stacey dressed me up in her very trendy 80's clothes and the jumper I wore was supposed to criss-cross in the back, but we didn't do that and I had to keep pulling the straps up all night while I was dancing to Prince's 1999. :) But for some reason, I couldn't picture these overalls criss-crossing in the back. So glad to hear that the mystery was solved! And how amazing that you found an 11. :) Looking forward to seeing her! So, you won't have your Visual girl anymore. But something tells me you already have a Visual doll? My Grace is a Visual girl and I love that about her.
@@bethbacarella Our Cecile is a visual from the Columbus store (so extra special!) and we just bought two more visual dolls last weekend lol. I do think it's special to have display dolls and I don't mind at all that they have bum tattoos ;-) Also, what an incredible memory about a party almost 40 years ago!

I got Kits original overalls so at the time I wasn’t interested in her Chicken keeping overalls. I’m sure I thought they cost too much. They are so stinking cute! Why didn’t I get them🤦♀️.

The collector's dilemma, right? Don't want to be impulsive, irresponsible, or give in to FOMO. But also, don't want to miss the chance to get something at retail and then be priced out of buying it when resale prices soar. Sigh. I feel you.

Fun video! I love the AG flapper costume and just took off my doll to switch into a Christmas outfit. AND one of the heels came off!! Glue will fix it though. Magnetic clasps are the best! Totally agree, Kit has the best shoes! I think you have to cris cross the strap’s although I haven’t put that outfit on my doll in awhile. Try it. Let me know if it works.

@@agtakesover too funny! I’m not exactly sure what collection or set the items with the magnetic closures come from, the only thing I know is that I have a necklace for Elizabeth and it has a magnetic closure. I don’t know why they stopped using them because they’re the best.

I've just owned several sets of overalls (as have my kids) and we've never crossed them in the back, and none of Kit's other ones do, so I didn't think of it. Well this might be hard to believe, but do remember me saying we're keeping her "unless we can trade her for an 11"? Another agtuber reached out after watching the video and has two 11s and had *just* been thinking, "I have two 11s. Maybe I should sell one and buy a 45" and then I made my comment. So...she's going to be at the meet-up my wife and I are hosting next month at AGP Columbus and she's bringing her 11. We are going to trade and then we'll each have one 11 and one 45!! How crazy that that worked out, huh?

From the sounds of it, the straps are supposed to cross in the back and I just didn't realize it. I got that solution from a LOT of collectors and am kind of surprised it didn't occur to me. But what luck that the solution is so simple! lol

Yep - it never ever hurts to ask. And no, I don't have Marisol. I think she's pretty, though when I do see her she's often a bit faded.
I had always been curious /interested about Marisol since she is the second Latina doll created by AG and a GOTY. I was lucky to buy one new in box never removed on Poshmark at a supper low price with only a damaged box lid. I though she he just another doll to add to my collections. Omg was I just in love with her. She represents Latina with brown rose skin tones with ash brown hair with gold highlights and dark chocolate brown eyes. I say an on point representation of mestiza in Latino community. If you ever get one I love to see an unboxing and an opinion of her.

Oh, I'm so glad my voice is easy on the ears! Our Cecile is a visual model from the Columbus store and I know that her story is an employee got her when they were retiring her and she kept her for a few years but then decided to part with her and sold her to us. I imagine similar things might happen near other stores. My guess about the 45 we got is that the seller either worked at an AG store or knew someone who did.

Apparently they're supposed to cross in the back. After everyone pointed that out I started wondering how it didn't occur to me. But I've never worn a single pair of overalls that crossed like that (nor have either of my kiddos) so I just didn't think about it.
