Great coverage on this new Anbernic device. Seeing it can run GameCube games fairly well certainly has me enticed.

Still enjoying my Gray ANBERNIC RG505! I also love the shiny silver ANBERNIC logo on the front of the handheld, makes the console look stylish. The inline triggers are surprisingly easy to reach. I don't care about it not having an hdmi out. I got a 1TB Sandisk micro sd for mine. I like the overall design of this handheld.
my advice to those starting out on emu handheld is make your own game archive already. it's half of the fun, and i'm pretty sure you're gonna buy another one anyway.
This is definitely a great idea. Especially if you're going to be trying out a few products.
I got the rg505 a few days ago and i love the build quality. The sticks,the buttons,even those shoulder buttons people are on the fence about I love. My fingers reach them easily so I have no problems using them comfortably. One thing though,is Retroarch working ok for everyone? Mine closes the minute I try to load Saturn games. I have the all bios there so its not that. I've only tried Saturn emulation though,beetle Saturn and Yabushi Sanshiro cores just close when trying to play games on them. Maybe its just Saturn emulation doesn't go well with Retroarch?
I have both rg505 and rp3+. I prefer the retroid, better ergonomics, better size, stacked buttons, materials feel better too. But the rg505 has a way better screen and better start/select placements.
Overall, both are great devices but the rg505 is just not very comfortable for me.
Yeah, it's definitely down to personal preference with these systems, that's for sure. They are so closely matched!
@@ChronikSpartan is there a built in camera or camera app to record the gameplay and put it on CZcams?
I hope that we can only up from here, regarding GC and PS2 games actually being playable on devices like this. Not to mention, devices that are not only solid overall, but are also being sold for good prices.

Just ordered this. Was looking at the rp3+ but the 90 day turn around was a huge deal breaker for me. Anbernic offers 2 week delivery to most places.
hey! do you still like it? i'm just not shure about the weird dymensions and probably uncomfortable feeling in the hand. 405m was a little too small for me and i didnt like the screen. but the 505 looks so big and not very ergonomic

agree. this is their best device yet but it's the one who looked more like a ripoff because of the color selections. the other weaker units had deep purple metal shell, the atomic purple, yet the 505 gets crocs yellow and gay blue.

The Odin is still better, you got 4k 1080p video out, you got analog shoulder buttons, a great build and the ability to root which is a game changer, but if lower res wii, gamecube and ps2 is fine, then I guess it's a better buy. All depends on what we want, do we want to settle or do we want some room? Ergonomics is also a big deal, the 505 must be a pain in the ass to game stream or play analog joystick dominate games, with given the placement of those shoulder buttons and how tall the device is in comparison to the analog joysticks.
I just just got my RP3+ now THAT is comfortable, and given it's pocketable, I think I'll probably be using this more often, just not for any racing games or more demanding wii and ps2 games, it helps these handhelds don't have the highest resolution.

If u wanna play first person shooter gamws that use r1 r2 get rp3+ ( but honestly just like very few games that utilize are one and are two that is smooth playable on the retreat pocket 3 plus so that shoulder Bunnings really doesn't make sense unless you're just screaming games which this isn't a device that's meant to stream it's a device to emulate

I'd go for the RP3+, higher res screen, better ergonomics and customer service and they seem like a company that actually listens to it's users and doesn't push out tons of devices per year. I loved Anbernic for it's RG351V but they put quantity over quality imo. Imagine if Apple pushed out a new iphone every month or two, imagine trying to stay on top of all of them?

Does anybody know if the oled screen displays the mura effect or stains on a dark gray/black screen that the launch ps vita oleds displayed? If so, is it just inherent to this first gen oled screen?
