I didn't expect they would use the "biblically accurate" design of the angels, I guess the popularity they had in 2020 influenced their design.
Technically they arent biblically accurate- the ones people claim to be is just from a philosopher who had a vision, in the Bible they arent described like that

It really does seem like Charlie takes after Lucifer the most, seeing as how both are (or were in Lucifer's case) ambitious dreamers, with Lucifer wanting to grant humanity free will and Charlie wanting to redeem sinners, and how both were scorned and rejected for their dreams. Still pretty curious on why Lilith is still left so ambiguous.

If we go by other by the bible there is reasons to god's killing.I know that it is debated on God'd morality (which even as a Christian I can understand why people would question it) but if you are referencing the bible then no Luicifer is evil. He casually makes bets on people turning into the most evil version of themselves they can be and presuades them to do so. The bible literally has said he has possessed people and made them do all evil. He brought sin in to the world and gave things like murder, and rape, and countless other things. Questioning God's morality is understandable but to act like the devil is just chill and is not evil is wrong.

And has some major holes in it like how Lilith did anything without free will since the Apple supposedly gave that. Given Lilith is sus as can be given she’s chill at her Ex’s place for 7 years unbeknownst to her husband and daughter, id say she’s untrustworthy to say the least.

Since Lucifer is the sin of Pride, I would think so. There is no way his story is this shiny, "I did nothing wrong" backstory. If this is to be accurate, he would have lied to make himself look better and make Heaven look like the ones who were wrong even if they weren't.

I noticed that similar phrases slip through throughout the series. This makes it clear that Charlie respects his mom. She seems to see Lilith as an authority figure. At the same time, it is also easier for Charlie to talk about something with his mother (as she, for example, in the pilot, after an unsuccessful interview, calls Lilith in search of support).
This does a lot to explain Hell's side of the story. Especially that both Charlie and Lilith have a lot in common when it comes to helping people. As for Lucifer him being a broken man/angel over what happened also explains why he's not up for Charlie's hotel in the first place at least at the moment.
Or... the father of lies is telling the inhabitants of hell this story so that they become loyal soldiers when he tries to storm the heavenly gates again.

There's a theory floating around now that Eve has become evil. Like she's the "root of all evil" because she's the one that took the fruit. (And her smile seemed kinda evil in the animation too)

This story ironically captures exactly why Lucifer deserved to go to hell, even as it tried to depict him in the light of good.
Lucifer was an idiot who let his pride get the best of him, and when he let humanity eat from the tree of knowledge, he had destroyed it. He had created a world full of evil and cruelty, all because he felt that humanity was better off with "knowledge".
Lucifer wasn't evil, he was stupid, and he let his feelings and ego cloud his judgement. Stupidity is what allows evil to persevere. When people choose not to confront evil. When people refuse to properly condemn evil. When evil is allowed to persevere, the one responsible isn't them, but the people who are too stupid to put an end to it.
I mean he is the Sin of Pride lol
This was the main reason for the fall of Lucifer in the original translation of the Bible. He was the right hand of God, the most beautiful and smartest of the angels. But at one point he began to express his thoughts to father that he was too cruel towards sinners. He asked for his own kingdom, in which freedom would reign and absolutely everyone would be happy, even those who had committed sin. God granted the pride son's wish, saying that he would be judged by his own mistakes. In the end, everything turned out just like in this series. Sinners received unlimited freedom, and the path to heaven was closed to Lucifer because he considered himself smarter than God.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
This is accurate to how evil twists the story.

The voice change caught me off guard at first but the clip of him and Vox interacting sold me, I CANNOT wait to watch this!
Ehh I'm not 100% sold on his regular speaking voice, I'm hoping as the VA grows into the role it'll gain more variety as it seems to often just kinda stay at the top w pitch and tone rather than dramatically dipping up and down like the old VA, which makes it less fun to listen to imo. Also miss the heavy radio effect, though I totally understand why they toned it down.
That said, his singing is absolutely fantastic and I'm very much looking forward to more alastor songs

Bro imagine if a beatboxer on youtube spent $50.000 on an animation of one of the characters chasing him and eventually catching him because she was in love with him but in reality, the animation was because he was in love with her or because he needs more money and the show was already popular. I actually think it would be a better plot twist if everyone was lying. Or everyone in the upper echelons of the two armies anyway. That makes Charlie the idealist who sets things right.
Of course it may not get that far, especially if this is a comedy and not an action drama.
Yeah, also, this may sound hard to believe but, biblically speaking I think the reason why the tree of knowledge was in God's garden to begin with was because he did plan on having Adam and Eve eat the apple once they were mature enough to handle the truth of the world and when the time would come for them, not when they were just created, because they basically had the mentality of a newborn, so God would want them to enjoy their innocence in the meantime. It's basically like the process of growing up and you slowly start to learn about the world you live in, also IF God really didn't want the tree to be in his garden, why wouldn't he have gotten rid of it?
Yeah it may not be outright stated in the Bible, but wouldn't the knowledge of good and evil be a good thing? If you think that God intended all along for Man to eat the apple, then the Devil could be seen as interfering and pushing for it to happen sooner or in a way that wasn't intended. That would mean that God might also have intended for Adam and Eve to have eaten from the Tree of Life, but when they defied Him He deemed them not ready and forced them to leave without it.
The God of the Old Testament seems to love tests. And this is supposed to be a story of how evil came into the world and why a loving God allows such things. In Hazbin Hotel it is changed so that Lucifer and not Satan tempted Eve with the apple (they are different characters in Hazbin Hotel) but this fits Lucifer's theme of rebellion and pride. So the story is the same, just told from Lucifer's point of view.
There are also shades of Prometheus here. It's a universal story.

Once upon a time, there was a guy on CZcams, said guy wasted 50 Thousand dollars on a softcore animation, not even a good one at that, but that came with a price bigger than what he paid for this animation, which was the image he had. Many people wonder where's God in the history, and, well SHE appears as Good next to Evil, Roo. That's why Charlie mention that angels worship Good and shield all from Evil. 0:09
The Elders of Heaven (there are six of them) I believe are the 7 Heavenly Virtues, the opposite of the 7 Deadly Sins. The last virtue maybe was Lucifer at that time (making them Lucifer's older siblings). 0:20
Lilith history's incluition represents good feminisim. 0:35
The apple that Lucifer and Lilith offers to eve, not only cursed the world. It cursed Eve turning her into Roo (probarly). 0:59
God/Good never expulsed Lucifer and Lilith from paradise, it was the rest of heaven. 1:18
Maybe the power that Lilith had in her voice and songs, was because of a deal she made. But I think that she already could sing before the fall. And maybe because of that the people in hell respect her more than Lucifer or the other sins. 1:35

All are valid points. But I think this all just one-sided story from Lilith perspective, or made up for Charlie.
Here, Charlie stated that "Heaven" made heartless decisions, when in ep 6 it's reviled that Extermination was Adam's idea and got approval from Sera, under rule that no one expect Exorcists knows about Exterminations.
I also think the two deities at the beginning are God and Roo. But it seems that God is sleeping. I got theory that God was the one who brought Sir Pentious to heaven upon his redemption.
I wonder if season 2 will start with Sir Pentious narrating his life as human, his afterlife in Hell and now his redemption.
Or with Emily telling us Heaven side of story.

Kind of half way. Like, he had good intentions wanting humanity to have the knowledge of choice and free will instead of being God’s little dolls, but he still opened the proverbial Pandora’s Box as a result.
It has been a pretty popular trope since Romanticism mainly due to the influence that Milton's Paradise Lost had in the movement though... And Gnosticism has been around since the 2nd century...

What's amazing about this is that the origin story sounds like it's been fabricated by lucifer specifically for his daughter charlie to either make her believe that he's innocent or even to cover up whatever actually happened...

@@jubjud13 It is in the fact that Lucifer was unjustly treated by Heaven and cast out because of his judgement of the flawed humans.
My theory is that Lucifer and Lilith wrote that book to hopefully have Charlie on “their” side, but the truth was that Lucifer came for gods throne and thought Lucifer was better then god and he inhabited sin into the world.
Putting sin on the earth was Lucifer’s way of giving the middle finger to god and his brother Jesus. But some say that it was intentional that god knew it would happen and let it happen instead of stopping it.

well we get Lucifer is pretty ruthless he kinda set up his daughter to fail without actually being responsible for it in ep 1, at the same time makes him look good to his daughter.

I think some people are gonna be mad that Lucifer isn’t the intimidating and imposing character they thought he would be. I know he can probably change his form, but in his base form he’s shorter than his wife and daughter.

It seems to take a lot more inspiration from interpretations from the Satanic Church and the classic story "Paradise Lost", where the Devil is seen as a tragic figure who wanted to gift Mankind with Free Will, and suffered harsh punishment for doing so.
It also makes a lot of sense with Vivs old comments about Lucifers inspiration, saying she based him off Willy Wonka. Willy Wonka was a shut-in who hid himself from the world, becoming awkward and anti-social because of it.

I don't think so. Vivziepop confirmed that the pilot was cannon, and in the pilot Charlie tried to call her.
Maybe this means that Lilith puts faith in her daughter, that Charlie would be able to do what she couldn't do.
@@algmslaaaaaabut I think the full show takes place a whole year after the pilot (NO THIS IS NOT A SPOILER) and why I think that is because in the trailer Vaggie says “ok we have 24 hours until the next extermination” and the extermination is yearly but we also see Adam mad at Charlie in the trailer looking like he’ll punch her so maybe they rushed the extermination because Charlie got under Adam’s skin

Some people who had a loved one pass will call their phone or talk to them up at the sky, hoping their words will reach them somehow and knowing they’re gone still, it’s a coping mechanism for grief. Plus what makes me say that is the sound her phone made after she pushed dial was the sound a phone makes when it’s no longer in service. I hope she’s not dead though, I’d like to see her character. But uhh yeah

So I assume the big twist of this season is going be Charlie realizing this story is false and actual story follows more closely to the biblical account or paradise lost where Lucifer grow envies and jealous of god and rebels against him eventually getting defeated and getting cast down and rest is history
In reality Lucifer rebelled against God since he was very proud, he did not accept that humanity was the best creation of God above him, that is why he convinced 1/3 of the angels to attack God saying that he is corrupt and he only wanted them as slaves, that is why Lucifer represents the deadly sin of pride.
Real life Lucifer: prideful, narcissistic, arrogant, rebellious, and hater of God

God already won. Lucifer knows he will burn in hell so he is trying to feed people lies like this to take them with him, but you don't have to go. Jesus Christ loves you brother. He died for you. All you have to do is repent from your sins and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour and you will be saved. He will forgive you.
