A concise and very informative description of the types of blades used in angle grinders for stone cutting, focussing mainly on sandstone and limestone applications. Clear explanations were given throughout regarding appropriate blades and sizes for different materials and their relative hardness. Another extremely helpful video - most grateful for you Tom for continuing to post such content!!
Thank you for taking the time to make these vids. They are so helpful to me and I’m sure others. I’m a letter carver and I’m trying to expand into banker work. These vids are brilliant!
Yeah, I found mostly the same things. Love the idea of swapping out the electro plated ones, got loads of old ones. But the mounted blades are quite expensive here and difficult to find, except with specialized traders and then the proces are outrageous. So I just bought a set of these mounts and put on much cheaper blades myself. Found a site that sells really cheap blades, where I buy the blades for abrasive materials that I use for the soft sandstone, plus the blades for hard concrete that cut through granite like butter. The binding is quite soft so they don't last as long as the expensive blades but I get four cheap ones for the price of one expensive one, however the time I can cut with those four is twice that of an expensive one. And still cutting much faster. And polishing, yes, doing black granite at the moment, you won't believe all the tools I bought for nasty corners. Favourite is the multitool machine though, with a finger sanding pad and a spraygun with water
Nice and informative stuffs mate, shoutout from Danish banker 💪😁 We do very much the same here. We also use the electro plated ones for cutting marble and "crisp" stone
@@mainstonecarvingtbh mate, it was terrible 😂 think it was called "belch noir" sold as marble, act like flint stone or glass 💀 high rotation, 0 wobble electro plated and it would still splinter some corners
Great informative video. Thanks
Good stuff!
