    We use our quite a bit.
    Normally I run a pilot hole with the 2" auger since the soil out here is so tough (caliche). Then follow it with what ever is required. Most of the time 34" deep.
    Quicker and easier than the manual post hole digger for sure!

    I bought one not cheap but worth it very multifaceted you can use them for way more then just for digging holes for posts for example I just planted potatoes, sweet potato plants, and cabbage plants today with it I really like the machine it's up there now with my chainsaws on my most favorite tools list.

      I’ve used it to plant hundreds of dahlia tubers. Drop the hole deep, add compost, throw in the tuber and slowly fill in as plant takes off

    I've been undecided between this and the echo ea 410. From what it seems, echo has more power but ive seen mixed reviews on both. What's your thoughts?

    I rented it for fence posts. Dirt with clay beneath. And I have to say i was way faster with manual firskars quik drill. This thing just got stuck on every rock. I have bruises on mu stomach how I had to put all my weight on the drill to make a bit of progress. So if you have anything but ideal soil... go with the manual from fiskars. in clay without rocks, it takes like 10-15 minutes to do a 80 cm hole

      You made good time. I doubt I went much over half that speed in clay with lots of rocks. I made my best time by using a 2 inch bit & breaking up the ground with 4 to 5 close spaced holes & then clearing the hole with a 6 inch bit. Just using the 6 inch alone It seemed to just spin like it was on marbles in the gravel laced clay.

    Question: I love this auger but need a 12" bit for fence posts. Do they have that available?

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  Před 2 lety

      Stihl does not. There is a 1” square shank adapter that may allow a different brand to hook up. Just be smart

    A 6" auger bit is not suffice for a 4 x 4 post, hole should be 3 times diameter of post

    I wish all you guys showing how to prime a carb would stop counting the number of times to press the tit, it doesn't work that way, it holds down the carb float so that the petrol can flow into the chamber, so just hold it down until petrol drips out! It aint rocket science!

    Obviously it works fine on sandy beach type ground.
    Now let’s test on real world use which mostly are hard clay mixed with small rocks.!!!..??
