In November 1963 audiences were treated to an epic tale of slapstick, pratfalls and chaos in Stanley Kramer's It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. An all-star cast of comedy legends set out on a hunt for a suitcase of money buried under a 'big W' and an awful lot of laughs spill off the screen.
Sixty years later the film is still impressive with its comedic mayhem, wild stunts and the comedic cast that were brought together to share the cinemascope screen together. While it might not be the funniest comedy ever made, it remains an awe-inspiring film just for the sheer scale of it and the audacity of it going for every gag it possibly could.

No remakes or reboots. No sequels. Just allow this comedy epic stand on its own in cinematic history.
Very impressive edit!...from a guy who used to cut trailers for Columbia Pictures (yeah, not the biggest studio, but they still make pictures).
Trivia: Barrie Chase (the woman dancing with Dick Shawn) recently turned 90. She jokingly says, "I am the cast reunion for It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." Also, the plane flying through the Coca-Cola billboard was done for real. The billboard was made out of balsa wood but it still damaged the plane. Stunt pilot Frank Tallman did the stunt.
Yup - no CGI back then! Both Frank Tallman and his partner, Paul Mantz, died while filming stunts...in fact, the scene with Mantz's passing in THE FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX was kept in the movie, which was dedicated to him. Outtakes from the other camera angles of the crash can be found on youtube.
Yes, Barrie Chase is the sole-surviving cast member of all the major, minor, and cameo roles of Mx4W.
Saw Moe Howard (boss stooge) as a fireman in this trailer. Checked imdb. Yup. Didn't know that.
