Guitar Chord Sequences - Making Predictions

  • With just a little bit of theory, one can predict chords that are in a certain key. Here, I focus not on keys and sharps and flats, but rather patterns as they appear on the guitar.
Chords in a major key are mainly I, ii, iii, IV, V and vi, where upper case Roman numerals are major chords, and lower case are minor chords.
Also included here are chords of bIII, bVI and bVII (flattened third, flattened sixth and flattened seventh), which are sometimes encountered.

Great to see you back Dan - we all agree on that!. Thanks for this latest tutorial. I am self taught and I pretty well knew all that but it’s very helpful to hear it explained and put into context. Thank you 👍🎶🎸

So excited to see a new video from you. I was a little concerned. I hope your are doing well. Loved this video, I learned several new things today. Never knew that the six position is the relative minor. But even more exciting to me is the chords up the neck. I’m already starting to use them to replace my “Cowboy” chords. Thank you for your fun and informative content.

Excellent and concise. Just last week I was thinking "I wish there was a new Dan Baker video" and, voila! Thanks

Love the new video Mr. Baker... I hope that there will be many more to come :) Just curious, have you yet to try the new Logic Pro on the IPad, would love to hear your thoughts and comparison between that and garage band and most importantly, if its worth the extra cost. Thank you. .

Great you are back Dan! Hope you are doing well. Who else is planning to write his 'own' song from Dan's progression? czcams.com/users/clipUgkxAQTTEKR2zlbmfm8d7alKH0shG-c-g5ul
