    Ever tried M2, I mean manual gear 2 not the model
    Least that I how to figure it works without a winter tire actually. Not this deep snow, it is about 7cm but really long and 14% incline, so the ascent is roughly 125m in height.

      Qiuyuan Chen I have tried it once, but when I got grip, I stalled the car, because I was too slow and the slope to steep. With more throttle the car does not stall, but the wheels start to spin very fast. I‘m going to try it again and make a video of it. Thanks for your advice!

    So if you're supposed to take DSC(dynamic stability control) AND DCT(dynamic traction control) off in deep snow, what is the point of these systems?

    • @CARSEXTREM
      @CARSEXTREM  Před 4 lety +3

      DirtForce 08 DSC = ESC and traction control in one system (take a look in the instruction manual of your car, there you can find the explanation). Both systems are for safety, so that you are not able to lose control of your car and fly of the street. In DTC Mode ESC and traction control intervene much later and let you more play. But after a certain drift angle, all systems intervene. On normal mountain roads let everything active.
      But off-road with a lot of snow you need to spinning wheels to dig throw the snow, otherwise you would get stuck. DSC stops the wheels from spinning, this is why you should turn it of in extreme hard conditions.
      If you want you can take a look in two additional videos, which I made to this topic:

      czcams.com/video/KHWFi9FxVZs/video.html

      @@CARSEXTREM Ok, so I think I get it, leave default for normal mountain roads in icy/light snow/wet conditions....AND turn everything off for deep snow hill climbing etc......BUT what about pushing the DCT button (TRACTION), which give you a bit more "play".....when is that ideal?

    • @CARSEXTREM
      @CARSEXTREM  Před 4 lety +1

      DirtForce 08 DTC-Mode is for situations on public roads, like you came to a standstill on an incline/mountain road. In this situation it is possible that you are not able to get moving, because DSC prevents spinning wheels. With DTC you can accelerate safely to your desired speed with a little bit wheel slip, but active ESC in the background, which prevents you from losing control of the car.

      @@CARSEXTREM ok thanks, that's about what I thought. So pretty safe to say leave everything as default most of the time...

    hill descent control, with DSC ON or OFF and why?

    • @CARSEXTREM
      @CARSEXTREM  Před 4 lety +2

      pepe ojo As far as I know HDC works independently from DSC. But downhill I would activate DSC for safety reasons.

    I think Audi Quattro with snow tires can get up that incline. Do a demo pls.

      I try to get cars from other car companies than BMW. But it is difficult, because my channel is at the moment still too small, so they do not want to provide me press cars and most of my friends drive BMW. But I’ll keep trying!:)

    Can someone explain how this works in a 2013 X1.... I've read everything and I'm still confused as to what is going on....I want to hear it from a TECHNICIAN OR ENGINEER who actually knows WTF is going on, not some go lucky opinion junky. TIA>

      DirtForce 08 In your 2013 X1 it works in the same way as in my 2010 X6: czcams.com/video/KHWFi9FxVZs/video.html

      Hab ich vor 3 Tagen probiert. Nach oben war es so.
      Als ich zurück gefahren bin....den Berg runter, musste ich halten weil rutschig war. DSC off ! ..... Rückwärtsgang rein ..hinten durchgedreht, das war´s ?

    • @CARSEXTREM
      @CARSEXTREM  Před 3 lety

      @@andyx2299 Bin mir nicht sicher, muss selber mal testen, aber im E83 X3 hat man im Rückwärtsgang nur Heckantrieb. DSC Off ist beim Vorwärtsfahren so eine Art Mitteldifferenzialsperre. Damit werden kontinuierlich 50% der Kraft an die Vorderachse und 50% der Kraft an die Hinterachse verteilt. Also xDrive sendet dann nicht mehr nach Bedarf Kraft an die einzelnen Räder.

      Ist mir schon mal aufgefallen im Rückwärtsgang, auf Dreck. Hintere Reifen haben nur durchgedreht obwohl ich x-drive habe ? Hat mich damals schon gewundert ?
      Müsste bei meinem dann auch so sein, definitiv.

      Weißt Du wo da der Sinn sein soll, dass im Rückwärtsgang nur Hinterradantrieb ist ?
