Homeworld has one of the most unique soundscapes in video game history
I have yet to find another game that has the music, the combat sounds, and the way units speak all together in one place. Some have come close, but none have matched the beauty Homeworld delivers

Agreed the first track sounds like homeworld 2 how it strayed away. This sound is instantly recognizable as homeworld.
But the Oriental influences that are now a staple of the series did not crop up in their full glory until the second game. How's that for a paradox?
I do no doubt the Paul Ruskay work. he would be a god as always. Hope Dune and release of hom 3 would return some light in a mystical SCI-FI genre

Love Paul Ruskay's work, to this day the Homeworld OST's, especially the first remain my most favorite out there. Conveys the vastness, beauty, dangers, mystique and unknowns of space really well. So i'm really glad he's back.
It's one that's often overlooked, but i enjoyed the music loop from the first tutorial mission in HW1 quite a bit. I hope there's some of that feel in HW3.
the Kharak System theme is an absolute masterpiece that's been etched in my mind forever.
Homeworld was the first game I appreciated the musical direction on as much as the game. Agus Dei when it queues up the first time...
I am SO hyped for Homeworld 3, for one simple reason: the soundtrack. If the rest of it sounds like this, I can die a happy man.
Around 0:59-1:00, I hear that twangy percussion cut out VERY suddenly before the string kicks in.
I also noticed that, don't like it so much but I'm not sure if that is how its supposed to be...

The most incredible is a loop when it comes to Homeworld and Battlestar Galactica. You see, the first Home world was supposed to be BSG game but they didn't get a license. Both Homeworld games had a soundtrack which had heavy Middle Eastern music, inspiring the new Battlestar Galactica show soundtrack. Now this OST here sounds like it drew a lot of inspiration from Battlestar Galactica OST by Bear McCreary.
The first track was ok. THIS one however....is incredible.

This arabic/spanish of this strings, really gives homeworld a desert felling and a dessert for the ears.
Love listening this on a loop - helps me to focus on making calculations during my study on exams. Mechanical Engineering ;)

Cataclysm soundtrack was the best one for a long time, Deserts comes really close though. This one follows up and looks like it could be the next fantastic one. oh my.

I second you on that. I was young, just starting to work and broke AF when they did release it, and on top of that there were complications with international shipping to my place, so I've never got a chance to purchase the book...
Now I can afford spending a decent amount of money on this thing, in fact I WANT to do so... But the only ones still available are resellers from Ebay who charge freaking 1000$ and higher for the copy. Sorry, this is too much for me even now.
Yet if the Art of Homeworld is re-released officially, I will buy it the moment it is available. So PLEASE GEARBOX

Whilst I've always loved Homeworld's music, I find it curious that HW1's score is nothing like HW2's. The Middle Eastern theme didn't crop up until the second game which the third seems to be following on from.
yeah I much preferred the HW1 style.
HW1 is middle eastern. HW2 is hindi inspired.

I know, there are YT->MP3 converters, but I feel like that route is shady, and the quality suffers. Why not take the opportunity to give back to your community?

makes me cautiously optimistic for Homeworld 3 after listening to this track. Homeworld was and still is my one of 2 favorite RTS of all time (Supreme Commander being the other); however, I did not like Homeworld 2 due to more linear story and hectic play style that I had to adapt to.

Why don’t you put some effort away from this and work on fixing the many glitches and crashes that are happening now after your last update to borderlands 3. It is unplayable for a lot of people right now
Because this is being developed by Blackbird Interactive? They have nothing to do with Borderlands.
