      You do know the original Homeworld game had a similar length for its Campaign right? Only three less missions then the Homeworld 1 Campaign and only two less missions then the HW2 campaign. Could it have an another mission or two added to the campaign of course, but apparently we are going to have future DLCs added to the game over the course of the next year. Shrug.

      I tend to agree that it was too short. Too many games lean too heavily on Multiplayer/PvP to add value and don't create enough story/campaign IMO.

      @robertdrexel2043 the missions in 1,2 also took significantly longer... it too me 6 hours to beat HW1 and almost 15 for HW2.... and I think I spent $20 on each 😂 a $60 game being ~1/4 the length while being 3x the price is a freaking joke...
      Not to mention HW3 lost key features such as hard points, the importance of building up a fleet before each mission. Hijacking was critical in those campaigns and it felt slower and significantly more methodical. HW3 just feels like you're building a blob and just right clicking your way through missions and it's a war of attrition, but you'll never run out of resources... to me this game was a massive disappointment and I honestly wish I just called the campaign short to stay under the 2 hour mark so I could get a refund 😕

      @@callummoulstone5233 Well they did. That's what the huge gates you use throughout HW3 are for, those are the Progenitor Gate Network you open at the end of HW2. In HW3, the Khaar-Sajuuk has the trio of original progenitor cores because they didn't need to *remain* after unlocking the gate network, so they got used for a new model of mothership to investigate The Anomaly. Then when that went missing, Imogen created the Synth Cores.

  • @jihyotwice3159
    @jihyotwice3159 Před měsícem +3

    Yes, I thought the main story campaign was too short. And not just by a bit.
    HW1 was rich in family lines and backstory that was never really developed. You could actually write many dlcs just from the backstories.
    HW2 continues with the Sejuk bloodline but since the homeworld got destroyed that was somewhat eliminated. We spent most of the game jumping around and interacting with many different species and in the end formed some what of a galactic council. This gave the feeling of a large game.
    HW3 pretty much scrapped the galactic council background by sending us off on a mission to find Karan and defeat the anamoly. I am guessing that further dlcs would be forming another rescue mission to bring extra cores to bring any survivors back?? Perhaps the navigators would be one of Imogens prodigy.
    Finally, no, I don't think the story was woke of any kind. The Sejuk bloodline was established as a navigator gene. Females are obviously favored as it doesn't involve any physical constraints. The technology and battle aspects was never really the focal point of HW so even the Intel and strategy aspects of leading a wing or battle plans for it's male counterparts never became a major plot character. We don't even know "Intel's" name. Lol.

    • @GriffinMan00

    I wondered what could be next in Homeworld. A new enemy, some sort of mix of The Beast and Tyrandis. A spacefaring hordes of astral monsters, asmilating all life, resurecting them, and using them for conquest. With many melee/battering ram-like ships as their backbone. I would imagine them as the invaders from the other galaxy, form which potentialy the Naggarok could escape.

  • @TheSuperColonel
    @TheSuperColonel Před měsícem

    The game looks nice GFX is nice. The backgrounds are nice.
    The campaign is shorter and the game is full-priced, unlike others in the series.
    Less ship types than others in the series.
    Somehow worse ship AI than HW1 from 25 years ago.
    The cover system added to HW3 can add tactical options if ship AI works.
    Time to kill is less so the game is faster-paced.
    Most tactical options are removed from previous entries.
    HW3 has strong vs everything ships......Previous heavy ships(destroyer and up) were slow ass including turning and could be engine disabled, or in some cases partial weapon disabled.
    Missing tactical options from previous entries.
    Eg. Cloack detection, hyperspacing short distances at the cost of RU, blocking hyperspace, using dust clouds to conceal ships, EMP ships, killing sub-systems to disable engines or halt production, and weapons of bigger ships, multiple probe types.
    The game has ballistic but no ship collision including Kamikaze from HW1.
    HW3 has directional armor just like HW1 did.
    Worse fighter AI so they dodge fire less than in previous games.
    HW3 you can produce everything at once so much faster paced to replace losses.
    Many tactical micro-heavy units were removed like defensive field frigates or drone frigates.
    The campaign barely has any outside races.
    For some reason, every mission has forced hyperspace beyond the player's control.
    In HW1 most missions allowed manual hyperspace once the primary objectives were done(even if enemies were alive) so you could regather the fleet, heal gather RUs.
    HW2 had auto resource harvest in most missions after auto hyperspace.
    Overall I see this as a heavily discounted sale after you played the HW remasters.

    I actually like the story of this game overall. however, based on the religious themes that it derives from, it makes no sense that Karan would share oblivion with the literal queen of chaos. Perhaps the writers felt that they needed to move beyond Karan S''jet to let imogen shine but it really hurts the plot design the games have been pushing forward. Karan is kind of the messianic figure of these games that ushered in the millenium of peace and prosperity. Honestly this game shpuld have taken place nearly a thousand years after the 2nd game.
