I was there ! singing along with Sting. “Sending out an SOS , Sending out an SOS , Sending out an SOS !” 40 years later , I’m still singing that song enthusiastically. Singing “ message in a bottle “ at least 5 times a day for 40 years. The police is my life.
I hear you and good on you. I'm from Melbourne and saw them in 81 Festival Hall, 84 Synchronicity tour, last concert Melbourne Show grounds and finally 2008 MCG. And like you, I'm still singing eow yo yo or sending out, another hour of daylight every day and don't see myself ever stopping. We were very lucky. 👍
0:00 don’t stand so close to me 3:14 walking on the moon 8:16 bring on the night 13:44 de do do do 19:52 message in a bottle 24:20 Roxanne 32:22 can’t stand losing you
The audio only bootleg I have has about 7 more songs from this show. The Bed's Too Big Without You was absolutely amazing... Shame they left it off of this.
I still have a bootleg CD of this concert that I used to listen to over and over in the early 2000s. Great to finally see the concert footage, thank you!
technical problem at the start of Bring On The Night. I thought Japan would never have that LOL. But it's great how the 3 professional experienced great musicians keep along with that calmly
@@faustopaganini6627 11:45 is just a masterclass in perfection! They were incredibly tight here. ….Way more so than during the reunion tour where Andy’s guitar work didn’t seem to be in synch as it use to be in the 80s
There's someone who may write what is sayng Sting at 26:37 after "I wish someone will close the door at the back of the stage" ... and what Stewart answers? I'm Italian and I can't understand
"...it's giving me pneumonia, it's giving me pneumonia, I wish someone would close the door at the back of the stage for the sake of the New Zealand promoter..."
Great. Andy was in his deep cocaine ear here. We can see his eyes, the mixture of cocaine, tiredness of working and maybe sleepless nights because of that two causes. It's a grateful that it never took him to the permanent loss
1981 l was 16 and having the time of my life..! Steward Copeland, was and remains one the most influential drummers 🥁 in the world . THE POLICE 👮 👮👮

OMG! I've had the audio only bootleg of this since I was 14. 33 years later, I find VIDEO of the same show!! I fucking love the internet...
I really thank you kept and uploaded.
What a band!! And it is very special. This happens on the day of my birth 🤩
Listened to this smoking two joints back to back. The soothing you get from Sting is different for everyone.

Great to be able to see a live performance I’ve not seen before. Thanks for posting.
How valuable this video is. I’ve founded this video filmed in Japan. Thank you for posting.
I was 9 yrs old then and remember the TV commercial of the concert singing do do do da da da ORE-NO-KOTOBA-SA.
Thanks for the upload!! I've always wanted to see this set.
8:15 THE BEST SONG AROUND THE WORLD....the best POINT.👍🎸🪔🎵🎶
Bring on the night sounding so freaking amazing. Dropping it from later tours was a mistake - as with the slow version of Truth Hits Everybody
This might be the best live version!
I love this bass line
Bring on the night
This version is very similar to the one they played in Gateshead the year after

British and Americans may fight like brothers but they make great music.
完璧

Funny that you asked that. I've remembered that little bit of chatter by heart for over 30 years. I'm glad it finally came in handy.
Should be a much longer set..!
Is it possible to get this version on dvd or download?

What a ghost this Sting
I love The Police but thank god they didn’t do Born in the 50’s….!
