Forget about the non-backup power gridtie (feeding power back to the grid) solar systems that everyone is selling. With solar module and energy storage at historically low prices, it makes far more sense to DIY install your own off grid solar system. It's easy and inexpensive to do and during a power outage, your self-installed, off grid solar system will provide your home with power to run your appliances or charge your EV and you can still qualify for the Federal tax credit.
I wish I had seen this video before I let the guy in HOME DEPOT sell me $35,000 worth of billing. I have been paying on these panels for 5 years and the financing was deplorable. I still owe $30,000. This is the worst deal every AND now I am not seeing any benefit of having them in TEXAS. The rate for buy back is ridiculous and my electric bills are way back up. We are producing energy and we get chump change in the buy back. I wish I had NEVER bought these damn panels. I want to sell my home in the next 3-4 years and now I will have to PAY these off or negotiate my sell price to get any return. Solar panels are not worth it in TEXAS. We have the most horrible electric grid and programs. Please ask all the questions before you invest in panels. Your state could be different. People want a Return on their investments. Right now there is no return! Just another BILL!!!!!
