I own 2 of these rigs. The 101MP and the 890S. Guess I’ll have to add an Icom to the mix someday…. The sound quality oh the Yaesu is really enhanced by the VC-Tune feature on voice modes and the automatic peak filter on CW. The Kenwood is starting to show its age, though.

In the FTDX101MP the power supply is located in the speaker, therefore you can not use it without this unit connected.
