How I built my biggest light installation (so far)

  • This DIY light installation has 2,860 LEDs using two MAINFRAME-B MIDI Visualizers, which displays MIDI notes coming from Ableton.
    I'm happy to show how I designed and built the system to encourage any MAINFRAME users how they can expand their system creatively, to create their own light installations. Especially if you have a tiny bit of DIY electronics experience, installations such as these are relatively easy to build!
    Among many different use cases, MAINFRAME can also be used as a "DIY Light Installation Controller" given its flexibility and hackable LED system.

    Wow, I didnt even know you could use cc control in ableton. I'll have to check that out asap!

      Yes! All parameters can be automated through CC, which includes all modulation options too. There's a CC chart in the reference guide here: www.syntheticstate.com/post/parameter-cc-control
