  • In this video, I'll be showing my interior cleaning routine. It's not a super exciting transformation of a very dirty interior, but I just wanted to talk through my process of cleaning and protecting the interior every 2-3 months to keep it looking as new as possible.

    I keep the little mesh cover that comes with the soft detailing brush. Keeps the brush head from splaying out when stored

      I hate doing anyone else’s interior as well. I only like making a clean interior look a bit cleaner, not cleaning a dirty one 😂

    Really useful video. One thing that springs to mind is one of those scary articles about car interiors and how much bacteria and viruses are in the typical car interior. It's a neglected area of car care but, in the current climate, really important.

    I’ve never really thought about using Surfex HD on the interior Heather, I’ve tried a good few products but generally use Autoglym Interior Shampoo which works well for a factory look. But I always use Surfex HD for cleaning my tyres before I apply dressing. Of which is nearly always Chemical Guys Natural Shine , which I like because it’s quite subtle and low gloss. . But I’ll definitely try a low concentration of Surfex HD this week on the interior plastics. My car also doesn’t get dirty inside, it’s always pretty much spotless but I do it once a week anyway. Great video as usual 👌.

    • @kwl189

    that looks great love your content, want to share: today had my second "customer" that is my mom's friend got to do exterior clean, dressing on tires, plastic, spray on rinse off protection (because I had only like 2-3 hours) and an interior vacuum, cleaning plastic and leather lightly because it wasn't that dirty didn't get to do the windows ran out of time got paid 20 euros cant complain-need to learn to detail faster still working on the technic

  • @karlhulme8014
    @karlhulme8014 Před 3 lety

    Good routine but I have one reservation, the leather cream/ conditioner. Virtually every modern car with leather seats have a protective coating over the leather, this in effect means you are not enriching leather you are smearing a cream on the seats. A conditioner then has the ability to hold onto dust, dirt and grit which in turn can be abrasive to the finish on the seat.
    The protective coating should last at least 3 years with heavy use or longer with average use. I use diluted APC most times and maybe a leather cleaner occasionally if I’m giving it a deeper clean but never use conditioner.
    Having said that your car looks great ( and I love the little MX5) so if it works for you, it works for you. 👍

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks 😊 the protection cream I used is aimed at maintaining the clear coat on the leather, it’s more of a sealant than a conditioner. LRC have some other products that are more for older leather which doesn’t have any clear coat left

    • @karlhulme8014
      @karlhulme8014 Před 3 lety

      @@AutoCareHQ thanks for the info. I was pretty sure you’d have this covered, your advice is always sound. It was more of a comment on some of the more readily available conditioners. Could you possibly do a short video on the MX5 ? A walk around and driving impressions, I’m sure some people would be interested.
