- In this video, I'll be showing my interior cleaning routine. It's not a super exciting transformation of a very dirty interior, but I just wanted to talk through my process of cleaning and protecting the interior every 2-3 months to keep it looking as new as possible.
Some of these products were bought, and others were sent by GB Detailing. However I was not obligated to make this video and feature any of these products. All my opinions expressed in this video are honest.

Thanks for watching!
I keep the little mesh cover that comes with the soft detailing brush. Keeps the brush head from splaying out when stored
i'll clean anyones car for them but i draw the line at interiors. they can clean their own mess. great job.
I hate doing anyone else’s interior as well. I only like making a clean interior look a bit cleaner, not cleaning a dirty one 😂
Amazing!! Your car looks great, well kept!!
Great vid. Thank you. Especially useful for the more ocd subscriber like me.
Thanks for watching!
Great job as always Heather your car looks brand new inside & out👍
Thank you!
enjoyed the vid heather , keep up the good work, i do learn quite a lot from watching you and how you go about your thing. cheers j
Thanks very much!
Good to see some more GB products featuring, they keep such a vast range and really seem to go unnoticed by many people 👍🏼
I really agree with that!
After three years wow it looks good as new I'm impressed the way you look after your car. wonderful
Thank you!
Really glad to have come across your videos! Your car is looking gorgeous! Really informative, and so refreshing watching a fellow car girl maintaining her Mazda who’s passionate about the details! 😊
Thanks very much I appreciate it! 😊
Hello Heather from Australia ;) Great informative video and your car looks spotless..
Thank you! 😊
Great video that car is a credit to you it’s lovely keep safe and keep the good work up
Thanks Martin! 😊
With this amount of care, this car is only gaining value with time. Awesome video!
Thanks very much! 😊
Your car looks immaculate IMO 👏🏽 Great job👌🏽
Thanks! 😊
Looks great Heather
Thanks!
Great video Heather!, It just goes to show that you don’t need to spend long on your car to keep the interior looking great! Nothing complicated or costly either. 👍
Cheers Graeme! Definitely would rather do a quick clean more often than wait and have to spend ages sorting out when it all builds up!
Quick once-over every week & keeping on top of exterior & interior is your secret weapon I think. Great work.
Definitely agree there! Thanks for watching 😊
Cute hoover! 😊 Practical size for the mats.
I tend to give mine a decent going over every two weeks these days as that’s how often my grandson (20 months old) stays with us on the Fri/Sat!
That’s a good routine then haha!
Really useful video. One thing that springs to mind is one of those scary articles about car interiors and how much bacteria and viruses are in the typical car interior. It's a neglected area of car care but, in the current climate, really important.
Thanks Peter! That’s very true, Im a bit of a germaphobe think it’d bother me if I didn’t clean it so often! 😂
Watched a lot of your videos now and they are all fantastic 😁 . I own a Mazda CX-5 in the same color as your mx5 👍🏻
Thank you! It’s a brilliant colour I love it
Like you, I use surfex at 1%, I don't feel there is any need to use a dedicated interior cleaner and the cost saving is brilliant. All the best.
Its still looking great after the years
Thank you!
Very informative, thank you. A great routine, car looks great! Any chance of a video on detailing in the sun? Please.
Thank you! I’ll definitely do a video on that soon 😊
I’ve never really thought about using Surfex HD on the interior Heather, I’ve tried a good few products but generally use Autoglym Interior Shampoo which works well for a factory look. But I always use Surfex HD for cleaning my tyres before I apply dressing. Of which is nearly always Chemical Guys Natural Shine , which I like because it’s quite subtle and low gloss. . But I’ll definitely try a low concentration of Surfex HD this week on the interior plastics. My car also doesn’t get dirty inside, it’s always pretty much spotless but I do it once a week anyway. Great video as usual 👌.
You can use Surfex HD on your alloys to clean them, your carpets, interior, tyres, engine bays and more.
that looks great love your content, want to share: today had my second "customer" that is my mom's friend got to do exterior clean, dressing on tires, plastic, spray on rinse off protection (because I had only like 2-3 hours) and an interior vacuum, cleaning plastic and leather lightly because it wasn't that dirty didn't get to do the windows ran out of time got paid 20 euros cant complain-need to learn to detail faster still working on the technic
Thank you! That sounds brill, I always struggle to work faster on other people’s cars as there is normally quite a bit to do and I want it to look perfect haha but most of the time the owner wouldn’t the extra hour or so spent on it!
Nice one 👍🏻
Cheers 😊
Great video Heather! Can you help me with the exact type of your hoover you are using in this video please? I used to have a cordless hoover, but mine is not great at all.. Thank you in advance.
Thank you! It’s a shark duo clean so it’s just a normal hoover that can be detached for the car 😊
@@AutoCareHQ Thank you Heather
Great video, I’m really looking for those soft brushes. Where do you recommend for the best price? I saw you got those in the video from gb detailing.
Thanks!
Thank you! I’ve not seen any cheaper than these for a set of two if I’m honest. I was looking to get some more the other week actually and most seemed around £20 for two on other websites!
Good routine but I have one reservation, the leather cream/ conditioner. Virtually every modern car with leather seats have a protective coating over the leather, this in effect means you are not enriching leather you are smearing a cream on the seats. A conditioner then has the ability to hold onto dust, dirt and grit which in turn can be abrasive to the finish on the seat.
The protective coating should last at least 3 years with heavy use or longer with average use. I use diluted APC most times and maybe a leather cleaner occasionally if I’m giving it a deeper clean but never use conditioner.
Having said that your car looks great ( and I love the little MX5) so if it works for you, it works for you. 👍
Thanks 😊 the protection cream I used is aimed at maintaining the clear coat on the leather, it’s more of a sealant than a conditioner. LRC have some other products that are more for older leather which doesn’t have any clear coat left
@@AutoCareHQ thanks for the info. I was pretty sure you’d have this covered, your advice is always sound. It was more of a comment on some of the more readily available conditioners. Could you possibly do a short video on the MX5 ? A walk around and driving impressions, I’m sure some people would be interested.
That’s a great idea I’ll definitely do that!
Car looked lovely and fresh. I also use LRC products which pull out the dirt and protect from dye transfer.
If anybody is after a good value, easy use, gorgeous smelling QD I can recommend DETAIL BUG-FIREFLY.
Thank you! I’ve got detail bug on my list of brands to try, I’ve heard very good things!
Nothing worse than getting into a musty smelling car. Have you a recommendation for cleaning and freshening alcantara seats?
Ive never actually cleaned alcantara I’m afraid! I know that the Leather Repair company do an Alcantara cleaner though 😊
Where did you get the little brush you use for removing dust?
It’s one from GB detailing 😊
How do you get 1% of Surfex Heather? How are you diluting it? Thank you & keep up the good work 😊
Thanks Ryan :) I just go for 5 ml of surfex into 495 ml of water
When you say, 1 %, what does that mean pls ?
Do you use rubber floor mats in the winter at all
Nope I just use these ones all year round 😊
@@AutoCareHQ Living on the edge 😁
Does the leather cleaner leave a Matt finish
It doesn’t leave a finish/residue at all so it’ll just leave the leather looking matte 😊
👍🏾
