Bit slack the last mechanic replacing the entire throttle body without noticing the damaged intake pipe. Pays to pay attention! Nice work catching the issue fellas.
Awesome. Just what I was looking for. Had a low idle with it wanting to stall. Changed air filter and cleaned maf and TB no change. It's all original as patina is consistent as if never been tampered with. Now I can check the resonator box
@@mturawa Cracked resonator for me :) Easy fix! Aluminum tape for ducts to seal the box up. My symptoms were a hesitation from standstill up to speed, esp when pulling away from a stoplight. Also occurred when making a turn at speed and trying to accelerate out, I would gas it and open the throttle and would get hesitation. The reason for hesitation is that cracked air box is before the throttle but *after* the airflow sensor. The engine computer isn’t able to measure the air that’s coming in through the holes in the air box. So 10 grams of air through the sensor, but an extra 2 grams snuck in through the cracks? Too much air, not enough fuel, the mixture in the cylinder is too lean. The computer compensates in erroneous ways with odd fuel trim values, which is how the guy in the video above was able to determine there was unmetered air going into the throttle.
I have this exact problem, but mine is intermittent. Also when i unplug the MAF sensor it only does it intermittently on cold start but not at all while driving. Can you give me any advise?
Hi sir, I have Lexus GS 300 model 2001 car ..my car also have a throttle problem. idle RPM (below 1000 RPM) very less, when I am starting AC it will more jerking and vibrating... Can you explain me what is the exact problem?
Hope they didnt make the customer pay for the new unnecessary throttle body by telling them that replacing it unearthed an extra problem. Would love to work in a workshop like this.
Man I wish I could understand him it seems like he knows what he’s talking about but for now I have to search elsewhere for info, good luck guys and for the future get some one that can speak better English please.

We have the exact problem, it has no codes, but with super lean condition. Great video!
Most educational vid seen in a long time thanks guy
It’s probably the “accelerator pedal position sensor” .. My 2001 GS 300 kept going into limp mode and that was the problem.
This video was it thank you
good explanation
Great info
My 99 obd port gives me no data …I have a diagnostic port under hood but it only pulls the basic car details then won’t run test or give me any data
Dam good video. Thanks
At wide open throttle does the ECU look for MAF signal @ open loop ?
I have the same exact issue
I may have to check that out on my is300 i recently started to get a slight spudder while acceleration. But under heavy loads stables out.
What was the issue?
I'm experiencing a similar problem.

Hi what kind of devices you were using to the so it gave you the data

Same thing, do you find a solution ?
did you fix it

Same is happening to me currently the car how’s now started to stay at complete stops
Stall*
I literally had this exact same issue in my vehicle
EXCELLENT !
Is there some type of solution to put on the PVC to patch it up
no
What did you guys use to plug the hole
they replaced the part... he just didn't have it on in the video and had the old one there to show you the problem...

Becuse that video i saved lots of mony i got issue and the car was idiling dramatcly i went and check that box and boom huge crack there
Thanks I'll check my car that has rough idle - 500rpm at idle yet gear at Dr. Thought you are British no need to speak like a MG42:)

it seems you don't understand English. I understand 99% of what he says and I've lived in the deep south and Appalachian mountains.
