- After seeing several questions from people commenting on Dyson's social media, wondering if the new heads will fit their V10 and V11 machines, I thought I would make a quick video to demonstrate if it's possible.

I have had quite a few Dyson products over the years, but have never been comfortable with their ethics, especially with the complex compatibility issues. I feel they are a company that tries to make an art form out of deigning in redundancy. They must hold the record for the number of models with almost identical features, but incompatible accessories. Personally, this has stopped me from “ upgrading “.

Very interesting, the V10 I just ordered actually comes with the Hair screw tool now, good to know the Laser Slim Fluffy works, definitly gonna pick one of those up since the V10 I bought doesn't include a Fluffy attachment
I have a cordless dyson who has lived here leaning against the wall for nearly a year. I’m not screwing the base bit into the wall because I expect to move to a nice new house & im not trying to spackle my life away. This jobby is great! It’s super easy to assemble & makes my dyson look so happy! He rests so easily & out of the way in his swanky new digs.
The Dyson Digital Slim Fluffy Pro version has a proper stand but not widely available in HK. ONLY the standard and extra versions without the proper stand - so annoying.
You can buy after market stands really cheap online, they fit a range of vacuums

My Dyson Outsize came with the Hairscrew tool and the Outsize Absolute comes with the Laser Fluffy Head in Canada so yes the V15 tools do work on other cleaners that are not the V15.

Would you advice me a v15 a v11 outsize or a v11 parquet extra (i have 30% discount on it). Considering i was awaiting the v15 because of the comb and the laser but not sure if it's worth it.

I looked at my v8 nozzels and its the same fitting as on my v10 so it should work also on the v7 and v8
I can confirm they work in the US. When I got my V15 back in March, the first thing I did was test the heads on my V11 and they worked.

How about the other way around? I saw a good deal on refurb v15 and thinking of upgrading. I have lots of v10 attachments like extension hose, hard bristle brush, flexi crevice tool, wide nozzle tool, mattress tool, and some of the power heads. WIll they fit on v15?
Watts maybe different like the V8 mini tool is 20w and the V11 is 30W and it's the same story for the larger ones so aslong as they're the same watt they will work.
Does the fluffy head work with the v8?

the v15's have been out of stock for weeks - thanks will go v11 outsize and add these attachments
The Gen5 models won't allow connections with any other motorized parts, aside from the smaller tools, maybe the little screw motorized one. There's a little plastic piece that prevents connection, and even if you get it connected, the motorized heads won't run. I'm trying to find a way to adjust the voltage to see if it changes anything. Also, you can't find the replacement heads for the Gen5 pretty much anywhere. Specifically the Motorbar head

I got 2 v7s, 1 is the animal+ and the other is the absolute. Will the fluffy detect head work with my models? I also have a v6 Motorhead and they all are running like new because I fully…like take EVERYTHING apart to clean once a month because I take care of my investments… so having a 4th dyson would be dumb lol really interested in the fluffy Bc I have all vinyl flooring and will absolutely not drop that much on a vacuum 😅
yeah. i saw one reply in their latest upload and said it doesn't. not sure why they have to lie about this. though im glad the engineers or management did not intentionally modify V15 parts to prevent interoperability. edit: then again, i learned that I didn't much like the soft roller. they got put the laser also on torque drive head
Knowing diesoon I would have expected them to change the fitting once again.
The have changed the fitting on the other new model the Micro 1.5kg machine. But this is because the Micro is primarily designed to be a hardfloor vacuum

Probably out of stock so they can change the design to stop them working. Underhanded tactics like that I wouldn't be surprised by

I contacted Dyson by email. They said that powered V15 accessories will work with my V11.
Their accessories are always out of stock and have never been unusable by older models after being in stock again.
Would it work on the v8?
Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work anymore. Just received some accessories (incl. the laser head) from a friend whose v15 broke, and the connector does not fit my v10 cyclone. The red button connection is different (circular vs oblong). Are there any known workarounds for this?
Thanks for this video Roger. May I suggest another stick vac? The American Consumer Reports testing organization has rated one of the Samsung Jet stick vacs as a Best Buy. You should try and get one of the UK models - it may very well be comparible to a Dyson, but less than half the cost.

Can someone please answer specifically does the LASER function of the V15 work on the V10, V11 animal etc. Meaning does the laser light turn on and illuminate the dust particles as well as it does on the V15. I understand the head will fit, that's clearly established by now. I also don't care about the calculations and categories of the picked-up particles on the display. Simply put, will the laser turn on and reveal dust particles on the V11/12? Thank you thank you thank you for a reply.
He showed it in the video working fine and you can see the lazer/light illuminated aswell. By the way the dust particle calculation has nothing to do with the floor head but an actual sensor in the cyclone inside the v15
I have both the V8 and now the V15 all the tools interchange.
Does the laser soft brush floorhead work on the V8? I just want to buy the laser floorheard to use with my V7 without having to buy a new vaccum
And on the website of Dyson, users confirm. v8 and fluffy head is not compotible
The one I'm curious about is the new Micro 1.5kg. I'd love a smaller unit than the V11/V15, but it's a hard floor exclusive model and only comes with a Fluffy head. I'd buy it if it would fit a carpet head from another model, but obviously Dyson won't admit if it will and it's an expensive task to find out...

Completely new connector so only tools made for the Micro will fit.

Obviously they didn't think it through that the only true marketable upgrade with the v15 is on an attachment and that people will just get the head instead of the entirely new machine.

You can use the mini motorised tool with the V15. I prefer the older style tool as it works better than the hair screw tool supplied. You can use the motorised tool on upholstery and mattresses which is the tool I use.
Quick update after 2 years, the 972522-02 does not, i repeat does not fit on the V11 absolute.
I watched your floor doks comparison videos for V10/V11. I have V11’s floor dok. Can you tell if V15 will fit?

I just bought Dyson Digital Slim Fluffy, when i tried to connect to my Dyson V11 Carpet Head attachment, it wont fit, do you know if theres adapter that can solve this issue?
Those new "slim " machins have thinner tubes/connectors, not compatible

i have the v11 and its brilliant just a bit heavy,will not upgrade to the newer ones though,not much inovation.I will however give a go to the Xiaomi v11 dream as looks interesting.

Dyson told me this evening that the Outsize is the most up to date tech. It isn't so I bought the V15 detect absolute as a complete unit and a main v15 unit with battery only off ebay. Much of the tool setup is standard and you have to be cautious on what they say at Dyson. All that said, the wife is a cleaner and has been using multiple V8 bodies for years and they are wonderful. Felt like an upgrade now so hope the V15 is even better. I never liked dyson as a wired vacuum in either upright or canister but the sticks are fantastic.
Why wouldn't the work? Dyson just wants you to throw away your old machine and buy a newer more expensive model there lying to make more cash
£65 for the Laser Fluffy head? My god they charged $200 here in Canada!
Dyson had to say “not compatible” becuz of plan obsolescence scheme. As to why they didn't change the connection design? One word: cost-saving.
Does it work the other way. V10 Absolute tools working on a V15 Absolute. So old tools new machine.

Newest Dyson models are more powerful.
V15 accessories will fit the older models but it could be they don't work as well.
Some report the turbo function doesn't work then because of insufficient power.
That might be applicable to the version below V10. The motobar and High Torque used the same mechanism, just add in some anti tangle stuff to detangle hair from the brush doesn't need extra power.
What about the v8.. this is the model I have, and would prefer not to upgrade right now, as its simply working fine.

Anything from the Dyson V 15 will fit the Dyson V7 and V8
@@tomobrien1853 I daily drive my Dyson V7 With the Dyson V8 nozzle I would say it’s fine I would also say any nozzle from the Dyson V7 to the Dyson V 15 will work
Only the main carpet/floor head is 100 watts. The Laser Detect is 15 watts and the anti tangle screw head is 30 Watts.

@@tomobrien1853 Maybe you have a Dyson V7 trigger if you do only the Dyson V7 motorhead will work in the Dyson V8 now so will work intermittently if you have a Dyson V7 motor head or an absolute it’ll start any nozzle and work normally

The rubber part on the high torque and anti tangle head is wear an tear parts. And dyson doesn't sell it separately nowadays, they asked me to buy the whole head instead.. what a scam this company.

In your video you actually answered my question 🙋🏻♂️ you purchased individual parts for the V15 i assumed dyson in an effort to Make money they would only allow v15 owners to purchase. No. Dyson say you can’t as the actual machine has different software to detect the submarine head. It may physically fit, but probably won’t work properly.
