I worked with an older Mexican gentleman years ago and he showed me that trick when we were rebuilding some pumps. My life hasn't been the same since 😉
So I have a serious question here. Why did you not do all of the prep work to make the head look good before you actually rebuilt the head? That to me would have made more sense because you would not be introducing contaminants to the internals of the motor before it gets rebuilt. 🤷
@Shade_tree_garage01 my concern is the thickness of the paint may allow it to seal properly. Specially since the paint went over the line where the exhaust manifold is going to sit.
