  • The Australian DanceSport Championships is fast approaching and we are in full preparation mode! The Professional Ballroom event is scheduled for Sunday 6th March and we couldn't be more excited to compete at our national championship again.
We will be performing all five standard dances: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep.
In this advanced Waltz routine you will still find many basic figures such as: Promenade, Chasse, Natural Turn, Fallaway, Quick Open Reverse Turn, Telemark, Running Spin Turn, Chasse Roll, Throwaway, Open Natural, Outside Change, Turning Lock and Right Lunge, just to name a few.
    Bring it on 💪🏻
PS. Feel free to wish us good luck down in the comments below 😊

Mesmerizing dancing, had to rewatch a few times. I'm feeling envious of that gorgeous creature who gets to watch you dance everyday and is a constant fixture on the dance floor 😍🥰❤

Some dance you want to watch twice this one of them... Absolutely lovely, loved the spin rotations, I might not get all the names of a move correctly, but I'm giving it the best I can.. And I love the way you end the dance with all the little spins.. My little super hero's 👏🤞👌👍😊😍🤗

always like to know what they are really dancing in order, particularly sometimes it is not easy to figure out or name the figures in an open routine.

I look forward to seeing this choreography with Talysa in a dress. The choreography is just so beautiful, I can already see the skirt moving like a dream. Best of luck in the upcoming championship.

All of us practice to improve our dance. All of us have our perceived weaknesses and flaws we try to fix. I'm curious what your top priorities are for improvement of your dance. It's difficult for me to guess since my dance is so much further from perfection than yours. It would be interesting to hear what dancers at your level focus on.

You are absolutely right there. Everybody has their own struggles and weaknesses as well as natural strengths. That’s why comparing your dancing to others can be difficult and sometimes leave you feeling negative about your own dancing. Our focusses vary depending on how far away the next competition is and also depend on our dancing itself. We don’t like to spend too much time (more than a couple weeks) on just one idea. But you can’t go wrong with improving your posture, your frame, your connection and fit with your partner, movement and freedom and of course developing your shaping 👍🏼😊
