Great advice. So many million rand vehicles around that seldom do anything more that your Jimney, and are just expensive shopping/school run cars.

Thank you Craig for the Zombie Offroad mention and support!
Happy to have helped out with the Jimny build and loving the video series so far.
Good advice on the tyre pressures for a Jimny, we've found exactly the same from our experience touring in the Zooks with upgraded AT and MT tyres

Pleasure Hendri... I couldn't have done the trip without the Suspension upgrades. that kit is insane !!! Thank you

Amazing man, around 10K USD for the Jimny with upgrades!?
Yeah it is better to spend less on a car and much more on the trip itself, so you can enjoy and not worry.
    Cheers!

Thanks for making this video, I'm planning to get a Jimny gen 3 in 2024 and looking at having it raised with additional mods for going through mountain passes

Very nice Jimny! I have the new gen 4 and love it. Can you extend on your comment on why you choose a gen 3 instead a gen 4 Jimny? Very interested on that from an overlanding perspective. Cheers from Mexico! (subscribed, by the way!)

Hello... it was simply a budget decision at the time.... what we've spent on the vehicle and overlanding in the last 15 months all over Southern Africa is still less than the base price of a new Gen 4.

Thanks Sean, Episode THREE will be released around 17 May, then we are filming De Hoop Nature Reserve. Each Episode will have the trailer of the next right at the end. so always watch to the very end.

Very interesting video. Thank you for sharing. I'm a fellow Gen3 Jimny owner and went Jimny for many of the reasons you did. Would be very interested to know what fridge you run? Busy looking into a Fridge and also want to run it off the Flexo555 powerpack. I've only recently found your channel so still need to binge-watch Season 1.

Thanks for watching. Our fridge is a mixbox 45L we ordered on Takealot.

Hi Craig, having followed your great series in SA and Namibia, I would like to know whether you upgraded the battery from the normal "torch battery" size to something better and better. We are doing our first Jimny camp this week to the "Klein Tafelberg" from St Helena Bay, and will be carrying our freezer as well. but my concern is the battery. I am planning to upgrade additional battery power with a power pack and solar panel.

      Hi, Thanks for the support,
When our battery died in Etosha, the garage in Oujo replaced it with a slightly bigger one. It was a 35ah and it was replaced with a 38ah. Its been running my 45L fringe and charging batteries for our drone and cameras with no problems. However, I have now bought a power Station for the charging of batteries whilst we are driving.
In summer when you're running the fridge, charging batteries and running the Aircon, I think it could be too much.
I didn't go for a dual battery system because it then closes off the area behind the drivers seat permanently.
A portable power station (555wh) is more than enough to run the fridge all day if needed. Even when the cars is switched off. Portable power station is a much more versatile item than a second battery.
