What a special voice she got...
Shane McGowan created a masterpiece with this song. But your version gives me more goosebumps. This version is one of my favorites and in my opinion it best describes what this song is about. So beautiful.

A very fine version of this great song. The banjo brings some fond memories for me. Me grandad played the banjo and he use to get together with some mates of his every so often and they'd play some fine irish tunes at his place. Me grandad was quite good, as were the other men. Grandad passed quite a few years ago now and I still miss him. I'm 64 now and my only regret is that I didn't follow in his footsteps and learn to play an instrument.

This is the one song I would have said would be impossible for anyone else to do justice to - having listened to this, I've changed my opinion. Class version.

WOW! How come I have not heard of this band. Both singers sound brilliant and the band are great musicians. Never thought I would hear a better version than the Pogues buy but this is it!

Almost started crying. Been trying to find a decent version in Swedish all night and when it failed I tried to find a proper cover in English. 30 some minutes and about to give up and I find this! Sure, Shane and Kirsty aren't a fair comparison, but damn.. it did strike a nerve. Kudos to the band!

Great version of this song. I have always thought it is such a sad song about lost hopes and dreams and recriminations that tear down love that once was bound up in those dreams. You have managed to convey that with your version. Love it.

Outstanding cover. Best I’ve ever heard this song done since the original recording.
She loves the words and he can sing.....but this is Shane’s love song to the Irish took 2 years to write it is a fecking masterpiece note his nuance in his voice of the rare old Mountain Dew and having the Nypd choir singing a song from the past that paddies far from home sang.Shane bridges the Irish and the plastic paddy .Shane is far from the best Irish ballad singer .This is 1 of 2 that only he can sing imo
There is no such thing as a NYPD choir. The video featured the NYPD pipe band who did not know any Irish songs, but they all knew and sang a Disney Mickey Mouse song, popular at the time!
