    Well, did I learn anything? Actually, I did! Watching the values develop was great. That created a depth of field that gives life to the figure. Just pencil on paper, folks. Magic.

    Amazing! Didn't think it was possible to get such depth on such thin 89g sketching paper. I love how you place those subtle darker shadow outlines in some places.

    This is so good, Stephen. I just subscribed to the Patreon and have been following the block-in videos. Great content. Just was wondering if you maybe had any tips on half tones? I can never seem to get my half tones to gradate from the lights to the darks correctly. Appreciate your help!

    Very good 3D rendering. Did you use only graphite pencils? I am having a hard time reaching dark enough values with my graphite pencil set.

    This really good but it would be better if you would have done slowly step by step but i think i got the idea i had to go to the settings and slow it down so i got the idea im going to try it tganks

    Incredible. It is wonderful. I have a question. I see that you use graphite pencils from the Bruynzeel brand. It is not very common to see artists use this brand. What is your opinion about these pencils? Thank you.

      They are pretty good- I think that the Mitsubishi hi-uni series are better.

    Hi! Quick question: what tools do you use for this drawing? (Hardness of the pencil, blading stuff, paper). Thanks in advance!

      Hello Yuliya, that is a long list of materials to answer. The quick version is this- The paper is stonehenge and the pencils range from 4b-2h and the blending stumps are fairly generic normal paper stumps.

      @@stephenbaumanartwork Thanks a lot! I am actually trying Conté pierre noir crayon for my darkest dark, but it doesn't work well with graphite. I'm a first year student at the Florence Academy of arts, trying to find a way to make my drawings deeper

      For a deeper effect in your drawings without chasing materials try to unify more your light shape and shadow shape.

      kyle thanks! I do rotate out the older videos. I keep 4-5 months of tutorials on the page, otherwise it can get a bit cluttered. I might make the older ones available in the future.
