    Thank you so much - exactly the comparative/contrasting explanation that I was searching for!

    Eric if you ever happen to see this, did you put a fix 86 or fix 82 in your civic. I just got a 2017 civic si a few weeks ago, I am going to be running my vxi1000/1 on (1) One 12W7AE and I also bought a fix 86 to eliminate any distortion. If you installed the 82 or the 86 and could provide any foreseen problems man I’d be sincerely grateful

    ... upgrade to a RD900/5 amp and purchased the fix 86 now sounds worst than stock speakers subwoofers sound muddy speakers sound flat ... the. Authorized jl audio dealer shop going back this weekend for now is a waste of money ... not sure what to do here ...

    Would using a Fix 86 before a DSP cause any issues?
    I’m trying to get a good clean signal to my Kicker IQ amps, has built in DSP, so I can get the best sound possible out of my new speakers

      The Great Empire!! Ya that will do a great job summing the system to give you a nice flat input in the Q class amps. I run Q class amps my self and really enjoy the options they give.

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X Před 2 lety

      This has nothing to do with whether or not your new amps have DSP. If what you have in your car has DSP, you put this in between the OEM amp and your new amp.

    I wonder if this would work for a factory 10 channel speaker system. I have a Bose factory system I would love to add JL all around instead

    Thanks
    I believe it’s full range in the dash … 3” full range speaker

    Thank you, I purchased an 82 a while back and still in the box, now I want the 86. My truck did not come with a factory sub so I would just leave that empty correct? The fix 82 doesn't allow fade and thats the main difference right? along with the 2 other pairs of RCA? Thanks for your time

      Thanks for posting this i am using. The 82, miss on 1 & 2 and tweets on 3 & 4. There is no sub. Do i do anything with 5&6? Rear doors have same mid and tweets but a bit different than front

    What do you do if your car does not have a cd player? Many new cars does not. Do you have an audio file to use with say bluetooth audio or via a USB source?

    Can you run just 5 and 6 full range rear, from stock head unit. And get sound out of the rear and sub outputs? Or do you have to put leads into 7 and 8?

  • @DanielTurnbow

    I currently have an lc7i and am running front and rear Channel and summing the subwooder. So can I technically on fix 86 just out from Channel on 3and4 and our rear on 5and 6 will it sum to 7and 8 so I can power my sub?

    • @jameselam8263

      They light up green when it's getting actual sound and go Amber in breaks in the sound or when you stop a track. This is normal function based on my experience in owning one myself.

    • @marktwain6106

      I second this question and want to also ask if there is a substantially higher risk that additional noise will be introduced as a consequence of of using amplified factory outputs.

    • @jltechericcole431
      @jltechericcole431  Před 7 lety +1

      Vey Calkins you would need to test the preamp signal is analog and if it is adjustable at the factory volume. In many cases the volume is only controlled through the factory amplifier so you must grab signal after the amp. If the signal is full range and adjustable before the amp you may not need a FiX if it is flat signal

    • @JacobFrey
      @JacobFrey Před 5 lety

      If you somehow bypass the OEM volume control, you could just add the JL Audio digital remote to adjust master volume.

    I've got a question about the fix 86. do I need to run power to the 12 VDC (switched) even if I am using the signal turn on? I ran a Audio Control LC7i and it sensed a signal from the inputs then turned on that way. is the FIX the same or do I need to run an ACC wire to it? thanks

  • @outkast2626
    @outkast2626 Před 3 lety

    If my oem source has no sub out. Then will the fix86 provide sub signal output from the front 2 channels?

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X Před 2 lety

      Yes. It will provide a full range signal that will not be able to fade between front and rear. That's all the sub output is. It's not a low frequency output only. You'll sill need to use the amp x-over or a DSP.

  • @mikezupancic2182

    Will this sum front 2 and rear 2 to form the sub channel like an lc7i or lcq?

    • @mikezupancic2182
      @mikezupancic2182 Před 6 lety

      And to go along with that, does it also have the ability to EQ the outputs like the lcq?

    • @timbraga81
      @timbraga81 Před 6 lety

      as far as I can tell so far it does not sum the front and rear to form a sub channel. I have the Lc7i which did do that so im not sure why something that is double the price doesn't.

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X Před 2 lety +1

      It's not a crossover. Sum everything into the 82 as this is the cheapest solution. Then feed that signal into your amp or DSP.
