  • Into the Dust 2 follows the father and son duo of Larry and Tanner Janesky once again as they take on the world's longest nonstop off-road race. Their goal - to both finish the Baja 1000 race; this time - solo. Only 8 riders have ever accomplished this since the Ironman motorcycle class was established. They take on the entire 854-mile course, each by themselves, no teammates. A quest that would be the greatest challenge of their lives; they must battle fatigue, pain, injury, sleep deprivation, and the elements. The distance, conditions, and terrain are so unforgiving that only half teams make it to the finish line, and even fewer make it solo. Will they make it? Get a front-row seat as father and son dig deep and fight to make history for a second time. Get ready for the challenge of a lifetime.

Outstanding presentation Mr. Janesky!! This movie should have over a million views. Very riveting and well narrated. At 49 I race a 60 mile AZ AMRA race on a light 300 2T, and I feel like I need a body transplant when I’m done. You at 52 did 600 miles! That is amazing and inspirational. I can appreciate how heavy those CRF450X can be too, especially with a 4 gallon dez tank and lights. Congratulations to your son too👍💪

400 miles on a dirtbike on the roughest terrain with a messed up neck. I barely even want to imagine that, yet you did it. The look on your face when you threw the towel in resonates. I know it sucked to stop, and admit defeat. But what you did in itself is an impressive feat. As for Tanner, he's just a beast. Hope you guys are still out having fun with your bikes! Love these movies! Nothing but respect for everyone who does those races!

Incredible journey - I tip my hat to you both for taking on this Iron Man (hell, just being IN the Baja 1000 is an incredible test!!!). I have a soft spot for the Father and Son Team and the Baja. My Dad and I rode together for many years back in the day (I'm in my later 40's now). We would head into the mountains or the sands of California, always thinking about the Baja race and what it would be like to race in it. We modified our 85' Honda XR 600's for the long rides. In 1987' we were practicing somewhere near Kern Valley and my Dad overshot the turn too fast and didn't survive the crash. I sure miss him, and your story brings me back to some great memories of our time together. I realize now that while the bikes were such a big part of our time together, it was really always about just being with and spending time with my Dad. Being a Dad now myself, I understand how lucky I was to have had that time with such a great Father who taught me all the best parts of who I am today. Thank you Larry and Tanner for sharing your story. While the goal was to finish the race, for me, the real story is the bond and connection with a great Dad and his Son. 👍

I cringed seeing the Fesh-Fesh, rocks and wash outs! Been there, done that! Well done both of you! People who don’t ride just won’t understand the endurance it takes to go 600 miles in a day, let alone the entire distance in those conditions! Again, well done!

Larry and Tanner are the other end of the spectrum, the doers, the tryers, the battlers. I eff in love that attitude. Absolutely epic adventure and to share it with your son, priceless! Had me a little emotional to think of possibly sharing something similar with my boy in a few years. I loved Into the Dust 1 and this was just as great and I can’t wait for what’s next - wonderful video and everything brilliantly done. Larry, Awesome movies! You and your son are living the dream the rest of us only wish we could. If you do a 3rd movie can you please discuss what was all done to your race bikes preparing them for the Baja? I’m assuming they aren’t bone stock. Also the financial implications/costs of running the race/bike prep/paying support staff/etc. would be interesting to know as I’m sure it can’t be cheap.
Again, we’ll done and can’t wait for the 3rd!!!

One thing I learned from this second film is that the best lesson preparation grants you is the ability to define the threshold you should not go beyond. We'll get them next time Larry.

    Awesome!
I have a goal to race in the 2021 Baja 1000 Ironman, but I can’t believe the cost of race support. I need to win the lottery!
Riding solo 49-states (25,082 miles, 55-days) was nothing as compared to the Baja! Hence, my B.1000.Ironman goal!
