  • Heres a video how I replaced the fuel filter in my nissan.
    Overall process was quite reasonable if you are mechanically orientated. I found instructions on the net and it took be a good 1-2 hours to get the job done.
    Car: 2004 Nissan X-Trail (2.5L petrol + manual)
    In the end job was relative easy and a great way to save $$$, no special tools needed, basically a large flat head screwdriver and a mallet.

    bollocks design!!... no need for car companies to make it so complicated and fidgety just to change a filter.... but thank you very much for the tutorial, VERY insightful 🤩👍

    Well done mate. Only thing I would leave out is turning the engine over without the fuel pump fuse. It may reduce static pressure in the fuel line but also introduces air into the system. I've found that not much fuel ejects from the plastic coupling over the fuel pump cover when you remove it. Yes keep some rags handy.

    Thanks Adrian. Mine runs fine but never been changed so figured it was about time but never seen such a complicated fuel filter before! 270K and with a long trip planned I think it might be worth doing.

  • @jamie57061
    @jamie57061 Před 7 lety +2

    That has to be the most outrageously pointlessly, and difficult place to put a fuel filter! I thought i had the heading wrong, and it was the pump you were replacing.... What ever happened to cutting the rubber type fuel line in an appropriate place under the car body, where the pump is then placed between the 2 ends of the fuel pipe, which are slid over the ends of the filter, and clamped down with 2 jubilee clips. Changed loads over the years, and never seen such a farce to just replace a filter. Having said all that, thanks for taking the time to video it, and upload it.

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  Před 7 lety +2

      It definitely is alittle crazy, but once you get it, its deal-able. I guess car companies are getting smarter and smarter to make difficult for diy jobs. Glad u enjoyed it.

      @jamie57061 Před 7 lety +2

      I think that's spot on Adrian. The more difficult for it is for "us" the more money to the dealer. I've changed numerous filters, and pumps over the years.But having somebody like you, who has the patience to video how it's done, is always invaluable info. So thanks a bunch! James.

    Hi Adrian! i have A Nissan X-trail T30 2.2 dci 4x4 and i am thinking of insulating it . do you have an idea how to to open the door covers(panels), i am thinking of starting with doors . i am not sure about the tools that i need and how to open it. if you know how can you make a tutorial, please?

    • @adriand3753
      @adriand3753  Před 8 lety

      +victor balan I can try, the interior panels are held by a few screws on the side and then the rest can be poped off easily but carefully with screwdriver. Then there probably would be a few more screws holding everything else together and at this point you should have access between the exterior panel and the inside interior. Do some extra research on the net, how to get access to inside door panel. Goodluck!

    I changed my filter a couple of years ago with your help. One question - does this filter have the return line? I can't remember which one I bought but I do recall it costing approx $70 so I assume it's the filter with the return line included. Thanks!

  • @iamasmurf1122
    @iamasmurf1122 Před 3 lety

    Ha think I’ll give this a pass , those fuel filters actually look like they are not really a serviceable filter and are more than likely to run to the course of life of the fuel pump , also on the fuel pump itself there is a secondary filter that’s why I would say it’s actually not necessary unless your fuel pump craps itself , carefull of those locking tabs as I have had issues with them not quiet sealing before and have had to smack them harder and check for minor petrol leaks you should start the vehicle look that it’s sealed properly before that cover goes on
