His dealership would receive a check for the cost of the car or a new one. It wouldn’t cost the owner a thing. If it was your personal car though, that would suck.

But my last repo was the one I stopped that gig over.. it took me two months to get this Cadi from a Crazy bastard.. long story short I got the car and just as I made the corner when BOOM BOOM BOOM my back glass blew out and there was a hole in the windshield just under the rear view mirror... He got 20 years plus another 20 because of all the other charges.. long list.. that's a rough job no shit about it...
