@@charlottewalnut3118 lol you should watch the latest trailer and how most OP fans are hype. Also Oda was the driving force behind the adaptation. He even forced them to reshoot things because he didn't think it was right for it. Obviously it can't be a 1 to 1 of the anime/manga because that would look ridiculous and with the practical effects and cg we have seen it looks good. Stay mad if you are already deciding you hate it

NGL, Bink's Sake always makes me cry. The underlying tone of sadness that I always remember from One Piece, undermines the joyful lyrics and music. It's hard not to cry when you remember Brook's story.

Bink’s Sake, a song passed down by pirates through the ages. And as with everything Oda does, there’s more than first meets the eye. Excellent work lads, even if the ending wiped the grin clean off my face.
In all likelyhood, Oda himself probably used this song as his phone's personal ringtone. It would definitely with his theme.

I just finished Thriller Bark and I think episode 380 is perhaps the closest a tv show has ever come to making me cry.
The show has only gotten me twice and both were in Enies Lobby
This song was the first time I ever cried watching something. Brook still being joyfull after his years of torment is really inspiring, and seeing his crew die in front of him is heartbreaking.
I don't watch anime at all, so I didn't know the song. But this was great! All sorts of adequate and amazing and adorable!

Saw a video compare it to Homer's Odyssey calling it the modern day Odyssey. I could not possibly agree more.
This story will stand the test of time and has had SUCH a cultural impact on not only Japan now, but the entire world.
One Piece is and amazingly crafted story (amazing writing techniques, the fact that Oda mirrors every arc I'm the story with an opposite arc in the second half of the story is a Masterclass in story writing imo).
It has also positively affected so many people and teaches important lessons and isn't afraid to touch on horrible, important, wonderful, sad topics.
For example, when we finally get to hear this song in full, the one's who are playing it are alone and lost at see slowly dying. They with to die happy and with a smile and play this song one last time to make a recording of it so hopefully a far off friend can receive it one day.
They continue singing and playing until it is just one left and he has to cope with the fact all his friends have just died and he continues the song, and then he simply dies.
There is FAR more to it then that, but that is just a tiny part of what OP is. I keep coming back to that scene (and this song) over and over again

This song is used two fold, a way to remember the fallen and a way to celebrste a new journey. I often listen to this song to calm down and sing to it and imagine the salty sea air against my face as one by one we all come to rest til none are left...i love this song so much and i wish for it to be remembered long after the show ends.

This song is actually a kinda sad song wrapped in a cheerful song. Act one. You are young, vibrant, you can do whatever, be whatever so be your best.go out there and live your dreams and be a pirate. Act two. Your older. Your life is still ahead of you but with age comes challenges, but don't dispare because it will always get better. Act 3. Your old. Your life is at an end. You don't have long left so make the most of it. Don't cry for me. I've lived a long life and I've done so much, but now I must do something to make sure I'm remembered. Because in the end that's what it's all about. Being remembered. Not sad I guess, but touching in a way. It's more sad from the context of the anime and for what happened to Brook's crew.
