As a RAAF Fireman, I flew the Caribou from YPEA to YFRT way back in the 80's to service just 2 fire extinguishers. It takes 16 hours and 21 minutes by car. The flight for me was just a few minutes over 13 hours. We had a massive easterly wind and at times we were not actually moving forward but maintaining the same distance away from our destination. It was a wild ride!
This is amazing ! Hearing stories from people who flew the plane in real life is always incredible. Thank you for sharing it !
I watched one land at williamtown RAAF base. It was a windy day and it came in almost sideways, just before touchdown the rudder kicked over and the plane lined up perfectly.
@@python27au It can land on a postage stamp too. What year did you witness the landing, I could have been there at the same time :)
This is the best video of the DHC-4 I've seen.
Nice landscape, great flying.
Good decision to take the happy hour and do a go around!
Have to take the old bird for a flight on weekend.
Thank you !
Thanks for this video! I LOVE this plane - not a single LED onboard and you can land it ANYWHERE. If you’re any good that is.
OUTFECKINSTANDING!!! Well Done
Thank you !
Nice video! I like the style. Good choice on the go around :)
Thank you !
Very Nice Work. 😎 Thumbed Up and Subbed 👍🏽
Thank you !
Dude your editing is top notch! Great video and flight
Thank you !
It is staggering how much work went into creating this in 3D. 😊
Great video! Loved the sound track. What air strip was that? (It wasn’t Lukla)
Thank you! Dolpa (Juphal) Airport (VNDP).
The caribou is really fun.
DHC-4 taking off from an oil rig next, please :)
You need to make a video like this of the F-14 Tomcat
I'm going to get this just for this craft ....the start is a little inaccurate though you are meant to hold the start, vibe and prime switch over all at the same time then release start around 500 vib around 700 then hold prime till you push mixture to rich and it dies then release prime. The outside noises are pretty close and the hot exhaust contracting noises are a nice touch. They gotta work on the cab sound a bit but its bloody good.
I also saw it this way in the Checklist, but you can't hold everything at the same time inside the simulator. Really weird.
@@FlightSim_Experience I worked on these girls for 10 yrs australian airforce. Thought you would be able to make all three toggle switches at least? pretty poor of the sim if you cant
Great video!!!!!
Thank you !
When ya want the trigger to do more than apply wheel brakes look up Fighter Wing 3.1 Cheers!!
Great video! Did you takeoff and land at the same airport?
Yes. The flight plan was to take off, cruise through the region and return through the valley.
can i know what is your reshade?
would be great if you can share :D
In the community tab here on my channel you can find my reshade preset. But, remembering that I never use the same config. In each new video I do a new Color Grading and a new Lighting Correction.
What airport is this?
Dolpa (Juphal) Airport (VNDP)
There's no autopilot with this plane - too much twiddling with the trim!
Practically the entire flight having to use the trim. If it's turbulent, it becomes even more tiring. It came with a Garmin, it could also have come with autopilot.
welcome to 1964 engineering bro haha
