Most defenses figured out what the cowboys was going to do by the formation they lined up in. So it was easy to game plan for that offense. The difference I see in this first game is more shifts and motion and running different plays out of the same formation which rarely happened under Linahan.

I don't know if he'll reach Romo's talent level, but the Giants game appeared to be a huge improvement over last year already. With all that talent around the kid, he better ball out for that contract he's about to get. The reason Romo was so good is because he was fanatical about studying things and watching game film. Realize Week 2, 2018, we beat the Giants 20-13. We were struggling finishing off drives and we stalled a lot on drives. Flash forward 1 year later, we were moving the ball with ease, finishing off drives with TD's, and we didn't settle for 1 field goal.

The cool thing about all these plays is that there are other options, so that defenses can't key on one person once they recognize the play. They could recognize the play and think, "OK, it's going to Cooper". But Dak has the option of of handing it to Zeke, or he could keep it and run it himself to the opposite side that Zeke went. Or he could fake keeping it and throw a dart to a different receiver. That's deceptive football at its best
