    Preach!!! People who are there to get all the attention every week after week - that's the appropriate place for therapy, not a small group bible study!! As someone who is in the field of mental health - I'm so glad you are pointing this out Beth. In those kinds of dynamics there are usually subconscious wounds that need to be healed and the person carrying them may not even be aware of those wounds.

      I tried to lead a group of women in a Bible study once. It turned into therapy for every single one of them. No matter how I tried to get us on track- I rarely got to crack open the Word and actually lead us through discipleship. It was one of the most frustrating times of my life. It was clear indication that one of us was hungry for the Word. The rest just wanted attention and to be validated for their affairs, enabling, gossip, hate, and laziness. The spiritual warfare was no joke, because the enemy knew I was trying to pull people from the pit. He likes "pit dwellers" because their ineffectual in the kingdom. Wake up women!! You were made for more!

    My traveling companion passed away almost 11 years ago. She was my very best friend in the whole world. We did life together. Had babies close together. Went to the same church and Mom’s group. Encouraged one another. Prayed for each other. Helped care for each other and our kids. Not sure I’ll ever have a friend like this again. Women are hard!! I find women in the church to be cliquey & judgmental, not friendly and self-righteous. Or they’re the opposite, everything anyone wants to do is fine! It’s not a sin! God loves everyone! Which He does. But sin is serious. So serious He had to send His Son to die on a cross. Where are the people who love the sinner but don’t accept the sin? Accept the sinner, love them but don’t tell them their sin is okay? We can’t lie and tell people on their way to hell that they’re a okay. We also can’t be religious. Loving on sinners. Our neighbors. Christian women who do these things. Where are they?

    I agreed with everything, but meeting with the same growth group has built a rapport and trust where we can ask for prayer during the hurricanes of life and feel supported, much like the living proof team might stay the same. X

    She's correct about small groups, they don't grow and multiply. It becomes a spiritual click. That's not discipleship.

    JESUS’ SUFFERING & DEATH PAID FOR THE SINS OF MANKIND…
    For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
    Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6)
    In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1:7)
    Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
    In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (Colossians 1:15-16)
    And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself.
    (Colossians 1:20)
    ...But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ Died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be
    saved by his life. (Romans 5:8-10)
    …the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)
    But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
    For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us…
    Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;
    for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both
    unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace
    to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. (Ephesians 2:13)
    Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
    Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
    to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
    (Romans 3:24-25)
    And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
    which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;…
    And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
    (Colossians 2:13-15)
    I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
    (Galatians 2:21)
    THE GOSPEL SIMPLY REQUIRES YOU TO PLACE ALL OF YOUR FAITH IN
    THE DEATH, BURIAL & RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST
    AND THE BLOOD HE SHED ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR SALVATION
    Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you,
    which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are SAVED,
    if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that…
    CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS
    according to the scriptures; and that he was
    BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN
    the third day according to the scriptures:
    (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
