Holy shit Mihoyo did it again. They really know how to make sure their lore and storytelling is top-notch.
Say what you will about the company and developers' mistreatment or neglect of players' feedbacks. They know what they are doing with their game.
Their success with Genshin Impact can be attributed to their well-planned and executed story writing and this is true for Honkai Star Rail as well.
With Topaz, Adventurine and now Jade being playable, we can probably assume that the other 7 stonehearts would be playable characters as well.
