why do you want me to waste your time . it was easy . you know where it is . im pretty sure everyone know how to unscrew a damn bolt . unless your a moron . the starter is also easy to remove . what did you wanna see me placing it and bolting it down . that would be useless .

changed my oil pan gasket on a 1971 chevy nova, disconnect battery, fan shroud, and fan to make it easier to turn engine over using crank damper bolt, place timing mark at 6 o'clock position, remove engine mount bolts, remove starter and oil filter, flywheel cover and oil. remove distributor cap to clear firewall when jacking engine up, 2x4 wood under mounts or something so it won't drop down, I removed my drag link from frame on passengers side for extra Clearance, remove bolts and drop oil pan. I jacked up engine using bottle jack and wood, car on ramps. timing mark is as 6 o'clock position to clear crank counter weights at front of engine. hope this helps someone, took me about 2.5 hrs. to do this.

I think it's a good video cause the title simply says installing the gasket doesn't say anything about removing the pan and I think it's a good video cause I've removed everything myself but am skeptic on installing the gasket this is the fourth video I've seen I don't want it to leak but the video has no ending

How do you have your vehicle set up to install the pan? How did you get the cover back in? I got mine disassembled, cleaned up & all, but made the mistake of jacking the car (suburban) up a bit more so I had more room under the car. Big mistake. It changed the clearances & now I am trying to figure out where I had it before to get the pan back in place.

To remove pan get a floor jack, 2x4 abour 18 inches, socket set with 6 inches of extensions.
    remove exhaust crossover
    Remove trans inspection cover
The bar that goes to drivers side block from cover has to come out.
    Remove motor mount bolts
    Remove air cleaner
Put 2x4 on bottom of harmonic balancer and jack up engine as far as possible.
Use 3/8th and 1/2 socket to take out pan bolts.
    Keep them in order.
If your engine is high enough it will come right out.
    Clean up gasket surfaces
Install in reverse order and rtv the front and rear seal humps.
