  • Here is a compilation of footage and photos from the last 12 months, plus my thoughts on the Silva Fox Whistle.
What a great little piece of kit! I never leave the house to go hunting without it!

I’ve bought three of them so far.
I loved mine so much that my two best mates scored one each also.
Ron was a real Aussie and a pleasure to deal with.

Great summary mate .. Cheers .. Looks like you have had more luck in daylight than dark ? What did you experience as the optimal time of day ?

Thanks mate and a great question! I personally found I had more success in the few hours before sundown, from about 5pm onwards around January to March. As the days start to get shorter I'd just go out earlier. The couple I whistled up in the middle of the day blew me away but I have heard from a number of people that it's not uncommon to whistle a fox up in broad daylight.
Night time is possible but i found you need have a red spotlight or night vision cause they just flee at the site of normal spotlight.

Thanks for the reply .. it does seem from the clips I’ve seen that they work a treat in day light .. we have a heap of foxes about at the moment in SE Qld so I’m about to test this whistle out .. what area were these clips shot in ?

@@greatdividehunting7887 good luck with it mate! Once you get the hang of it they work a great! I also found location and time of the year play a part in success also.
This was all shot in NSW around the Goulburn/Malwarree area, closer to Canberra.

Julian Wilson thanks mate and sure have! A mate of mine got his back last week, he also sent his in around the first week. I however only sent mine off a month ago so I’m not expecting to see it anytime soon. Either way it’s coming back with a new barrel so I can’t complain.

I hate that song too. What torch with the green light are you using? Cheers for that Cam.

Shooting MOA it is a terrible song! I’m running the Olight M3XS-UT Javelot, you can buy filter caps for them or depending on where you buy the kit from some come as a hunting pack. I’m going to be doing a review on it soon!

I have the regular size whistle but i cant get the damn thing to make any noise other than a wet gurgle

They are a finicky little piece of gear. Gotta make sure your tongue is touching the fold of the whistle and your lips form a seel past the top and bottom holes. Otherwise, it's just practice practice practice. Good luck mate! Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any troubles 👍🏻
