    Now hook some servos up to this steering wheel and use a remote control and you can sit back in your lawn chair and plow the fields by just working a few joysticks on it

    Good job I've built many clutch/ clutches for things but that's the way lawn mowers have always been anyway when your clutch is thrown out and the belt is slack make sure you have a bolt or something rubbing on the belt right under the pulley to keep it completely off of the drive pulley off of the engine that always works the best most lawn mowers and other things have that built into the clutch system , it just makes it smoother.
    All that does is rub on the back of the belt to keep it off of the pulley when clutched in it will not do anything to the belt actually it will make the whole thing last longer and be smoother

    Keep an eye on the input shaft bearing for premature wear. It is far behind the driven pulley. Nice job.

      I agree. I put the pillow block bearing out front where the flywheel would normally be to try to help the load. We shall see🤞🏻 Thanks for your comment!

    Neat design! Definitely that high idle and/or governor setting can up the RPM's. I didn't do a audio frequency check to correlate to RPM's, though sounded lower that spec. Thanks for sharing. I like, commented and subscribed.

    I would just use a lever to pull tension off the belt for a clutch like most lawn tractors. It's funny that little Honda engine has about the same power as the original engine. 👍

    Myself I would went with a Harbor Freight engine, you could get their 420cc engine for the same as you pay for a Honda 212. Have used the HF engines for several years now and have had no issues with them.

  • @darploin5071
    @darploin5071 Před rokem +2

    With it having a 3/4-in shaft why don't you just get a centrifugal clutch from tractor supplier someplace like that go power sports and then just put a pulley instead of a sprocket at the end of it and that's been done before my friends have done it and that way you solved your clutching problem if you want to go a little more expensive you can use a go power sports Juggernaut CVT bolt right up to the engine. Have an excellent day

    Then you'll have a tractor.

    • @armedfarm3429
      @armedfarm3429 Před rokem

      WHy? Hell, Farmall's are common, this is what happens when yer Factory engine blows up, & it will.
      I'd like to try this on my compact tractor where the clutch keeps blowing to hell.
      Should have plenty of power with the low geared transmission for hobby farm work.
