Martha and Lucy Thomas are sisters who are pop singers and CZcamsrs from Wigan, Lancashire, England. Wow you haven't even scratched the surface of what Lucy and Marth have done. Check out the "Prayer" or "Climb". More to the point, Lucy is 19 now and her voice is even better with a more rounded and smoother sound. Your comment about their mother singing can be found in the song "Smile" where their mother joined them. Lucy sings a number of different styles, Rock with "I don't want to miss a thing", Jazz with Etta James, Country with "10,000 Hours" and Theater with "Memory".... She improves with each release. Lucy is a brilliant singer and she has made extraordinary strides in improvement. She does several duets with her sister who has also grown as a singer. A few months ago Martha, Lucy and their mother did the song Smile and mom has some pipes as well. Martha and Lucy harmonize so well its amazing. You should check out Lucy covering Hallelujah, some people consider it the best cover of it of all time with is quite a statement.

She is from Wigan Lancashire and is now 19 years .She started singing at 7 years old at 13 she was introduced to Chris Broom award winning songwriter and owner of Cavendish records the label Lucy is under He was so impressed with Lucy that he asked her to sing one of his songs "One Day" He said That Lucy had the potential to become one of the greatest vocalists of all time. and that she had the rare ability to bring her audience into her song a year later Lucy was on Voice kids UK and was a semi finalists Chris Broom Offered her a recording Contract, and she is still with Chris today. She has released 4 albums to date and is working on her 5th. She has covered most of the greats and made them all her own. She has 60 songs on her channel "Lucy Thomas Music". her most viewed being Hallelujah with 60 million views .Chris Broom is writing a musical for Lucy to star in it is called Rosie and Opens in London´s West end next year she has pre released a number of songs from this eg. I went to Lucy's channel and watched some of her videos; she's covering singers like Bette Midler, Celine Dion, and Sarah McLachlan and doing it really well, that's amazing for someone just about to leave her teenage years. Her 16-year-old voice in this video does seem to have faint touches of youth (at least to my unpracticed ear), but in her more recent videos, I don't hear that at all, just an amazing singer with great range.
Thanks for introducing me to her music! Lucy seems to be on track for a great career, hopefully Martha can do the same if it turns out that's what she wants.

carolmartin Yes Martha was only 10 years old when that was recorded, and she was sitting on a tall stool while Lucy stood to get their heads close to the same height, Martha will be 14 this Nov 4 2023 and has grown quite a bit, Martha has her horse Cloud and competes in dressage and show jumping and this summer placed first in her dressage and third in her show jumping. She is an excellent rider !!!

It was written by Sara McLaughlin about Jonathan Melvoin, the brother of Wendy Melvoin of Prince & The Revolution and the son of the keyboard player for the Wrecking Crew. He was a pro musician in his own right with The Dickies and Smashing Pumpkins. He died of a heroin overdose in 1996.
This is a beautiful version of this song. Superb harmonies. The thing is with these songs is that when you strip them back to their basic components, there is nowhere to hide. For it to be authentic, you have to get inside the song and feel it. Fair play to Lucy, that lead performance is first class.

This song was released on July 17 2020 when Martha was 10 years old and Lucy was 16, Martha was really small and she was sitting on a tall stool to get up to Lucys height !! Please see some of their later songs and watch the progression, this was Martha second recording ever, see YOU RAISE ME UP WHEN YOU BELIEVE, OH HOLY NIGHT THE PRAYER, THE CLIMB SMILE, which their Mother made her first appearance, yes she sings too, Thanks !! !

Lucy has been singing since she was 6 years old been with the same voice coach, Carolyn Hudson for 12 years, Lucy was 19 on Feb 21 2023, Her first song, was at 9 Colors of the wind, at 10 she did RUN on the beach and re recorded at 15 at 13 she appeared on UK Kids, sang MOON RIVER and WOLF and had the crowd on its feet from the start and made it through to semi finalist, yes Lucy and Martha are British. Lucy was signed at 13 to a contract with Chris Broom of Cavendish records and her first recorded commercial was ONE DAY to be the opening song in the west London Musical ROSIE where Lucy will be the leading star singer and is co producing with Chris Broom, show set to open fall 2024, Lucy's other songs for Rosie at 15 STARLIGHT, SUDDENLY GENTLE BREEZE and at the end of the Gentle Breeze is the suggested One day, only way to get to the Video of Lucy at 13 and she has BROKEN DREAMS at 18 and a choir group We Thank You Lord. There is a video of the two sisters with their mom singing. It came out when Mother’s Day is in the UK. Just this year. Her mother has a more Smokey voice like a jazz singer would have.
Hi Beth, you just have to listen to their later duets, including their version of “Smile” sung with their mum. My favourites are “The Prayer”, “Holy Night”, “You Raise Me Up”, and “The Climb”. You will also notice a big change in Martha’s voice in “The Prayer” and “Smile”. 🥰❤️

Beth you would not believe how glad I am that you have found the Lucy Thomas rabbit hole. As of today I think Lucy’s best song is the last that she dropped. It’s a Barbra Streisand song “Evergreen”. Her Voice will chill you to the bone. Lucy and Martha have so much to choose from. All of them are as good as this one or better. I want to tell you that I love your cover of “Wicked Games”. Lucy was 19 in Febuary Martha is five and a half years younger. Started training at 7.That Voice comp you mentioned at 14 immediately signed by Cavendish records and has 4 CD,s released allready . Releases about 1 track and video per month, Martha also started with same coach, and about twice a year joins Lucy you see her development in 6 month jumps really fascinating. Lucy has over 50 videos my favourite is La Vie En Rose but The prayer with Martha is outstanding as is You Raise Me Up. Memories from the Cats musical is great, and for power her belt in the last third of All By Myself is amazing. Martha's latest recording was in Febuary with Lucy and Mam Louise for Mothers day they did Smile the old classic and you see how she has matured and mam is pretty good as well.

Beth I can only echo the calls for a reaction to Lucy and Martha singing 'The Prayer', it is a tour de force. As far as other sister singers go can I recommend Megan McInerney (Meg Mac) and her younger sister Hannah from Australia performing a live cover of Tame Impala's 'Let it Happen' for Triple J from five years ago. And for a singer who can "cry" like no other Eltasya Natasha from Indonesia singing a cover of 'The One That Got Away' and this is live as well. Both of these are on CZcams.

Beth you would not believe how glad that you have found the Lucy Thomas rabbit hole. As of today I think Lucy’s best song is the last that she dropped. It’s a Barbra Streisand song “Evergreen”. Her Voice will chill you to the bone. Lucy and Martha have so much to choose from. All of them are as good as this one or better. I want to tell you that I love your cover of “Wicked Games”. I think it is the best out there in the music world. Thank you for supporting Lucy and company. By the way she hails from Northern England.
