I've watched this movie so many times growing up, it really turned me on Shakespeare from an early age. So cool to see the interviews. It all makes sense, Branagh's vision, the fact that they were having so much fun. Plus Robert Sean Leonard is probably the most beautiful man who walked the earth.

3:12 Robert Sean Leonard being a blessing on earth

I wrote to him not too long after he’d made this movie, sending him a copy of the complete Shakespeare for his birthday and asking him WAY too many questions about his film work to date, and he wrote me back a characteristically down-to-Earth, genuine reply which I greatly appreciated. Bobby is a rare and humble gentleman with an uninflated perception of himself, a spontaneous and dry sense of humor, and of course he’s a fine, fine actor of uncommon intelligence. Watch the final outdoors dance during MUCH ADO carefully and you can see him viewed from far above accidentally back into and almost knock over a large potted plant, a slight mishap that made it into the film which only makes it even more charming to me.

@@ChipsAplentyBand That means so much to hear!!! I've always perceived him as someone very humble and down to earth too so I'm ecstatic to know he has always been just a kind and thoughtful person. My friend and I had always seen his as someone who is genuinely passionate about acting. I'll keep loving his work, talent and his personality for sure

@@ame-senpai4421 I suppose it's every actor's worst fear that their own personality might bleed through too obtrusively into their portrayed characters and spoil the envisioned authenticity, but I've always found that who Robert is himself centers and anchors his most memorable characters in a very helpful and utterly believable way. I only saw him do live theater once-Shaw's YOU NEVER CAN TELL, which was in previews at the Criterion Center in NYC at the time-but among his film and TV characters that I've seen, Neil Perry (Dead Poets Society), Danny (In the Gloaming), and James Wilson (House) seem to me to resonate very closely with Bobby himself. Neil Perry's enthusiasm for acting is obviously RSL's too; Danny's ironic comments and poignant deadpan moments are his as well; and Wilson's sarcasm and perfect-foil-for-Gregory House, dish-it-right-back witticisms are likewise spot-on for Robert (just watch any of his repartee in interviews to see the commonality-e.g., INTERVIEWER: 'You should do stand-up!' RSL: 'I get too tired.'). Bobby is a well-travelled man of the world these days, but in his note to me he mentioned that he thought nothing could quite beat Sunday dinner in New Jersey with his family. Now that he has a family of his own, I wish him the same contentment multiplied many times over.

Exactly! It's his humor and interactions during interviews that catch my eye, especially since it's also a specific kinda of sarcastic/dry/witty humor that you can't always find in other american actors. The way he can balance both Deep insight into acting, his works and such, AND humor makes him a rare person so see on the screen. I've had my fair share of watching interviews of other people, but RSL really has a genuine touch to himself 🥰 I've actually yet to watch in the Gloaming (But I've watched DPS, Tape, Much ado, started s2 of house) Bobby definitely has range yet you believe it's THAT character every time 😊 Hope he's happy and safe with his family right now too, and even get more projects soon 💖

I hope fans of the deliciously hatable Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter film franchise will notice Imelda Staunton playing 'the bad girl' Margaret in Ken's MUCH ADO.

When Kenneth Branagh & Emma Thompson acted together they were phenomenal.
They had such chemistry which just drew you in.
What a tragedy when it came to an end because he never had that wow factor, or the same chemistry, with any other actress again.
I wonder if he ever realized that a few years down the road.
    But that’s life.

The cast is just wow. Like, look at that line up!
    Denzel Washington
    Kenneth Branagh
    Michael Keaton
    Keanu Reeves
    Emma Thompson
    Kate Beckinsale
    Robert Sean Leonard
It's a shame that the Oscars snubbed this masterpiece!

What good actors. And the mixture worked. British actors and American ones. , Now it is ok but in the early 90s. It was sexy. And such great actors and actresses...I think the American actors showed their amazing quality for the first time.Of course the Brits were great as well.
