Seeing as I live in Cypress, TX and there is literally either a taco truck, a Mexican restaurant, or a Tex-Mex restaurant on almost every street. I've had the chance to eat most of these foods. My favorite place in town is El Charro. I like to get the chicken enchiladas, and a order of the fluffiest sopapillas🤤 Qué rico!
I happen to really like sandwiches, but I can't remember ever having a Torta here. So I'll have to look for a place that has them.
He probado tacos, tamales, tortas, quesadillas, gordito, etc.. lo que más me gusta es tacos de al pastor. 😎

Creo que mexicanos y centroamericanos tenemos ciertas cosas en común: el lenguaje que se emplea en esos comercios informales es similar. Acá en El Salvador, lo normal es preguntar "¿Cuánto es?", y lo de ser honesto con el taquero u otros comerciantes, es válido también ... Claro, nunca falta el deshonesto pero mucha gente incluso acostumbra regresar a devolver si le han dado cambio de más.
¿Sabes? Cuando dicen "quesadilla", a los salvadoreños nos viene a la mente un tipo de pan dulce, que se llama así por contar entre sus ingredientes, queso. Así logramos distinguir a algunos extranjeros (por lo general de Centro América), pues la llaman "quesadilla de queso". Esto porque, al verlo que es pan dulce, creen necesario especificar que lleva queso, cuando nosotros ya sabemos que a pesar de ser dulce, lleva ese ingrediente. Las primeras veces que escuché de las quesadillas mexicanas fue en películas de Cantinflas, especialmente en una llamada "El Padrecito", en la que él actúa como sacerdote, y atiende a una pareja que está en trámites para casarse, y Cantinflas le pregunta a la joven cómo se hacían las quesadillas XD ¡es gracioso cómo le enumera el montón de ingredientes! Curiosamente nunca he probado una ... buscaré una receta para hacerla y ojalá eso me de una idea ... pues los ingredientes son diferentes.

Me encantan los vídeos sobre tema comida😍 es parte de la cultura de cada País😍 Aquí en Italia hay muchísimos restaurantes que sirven comida supuestamente mexicana pero, obviamente, no hay nada que ver con ese que nos presentaste, por lo general son hamburguesarías y tex-mex, osea principalmente algo de chili con carne (poco picante) quizás tortillas rellenas, y chips de maíz con salsas o con queso fundido....😳😳😳😳
Nada que ver con la verdadera cocina tradicional mexicana😄

Sorry I'm a bit late to answer! La comida tex mex has its own place and I actually do love it :D Just stay bread and flour tortillas, so siempre pide las cosas con tortillas de maíz :D
All the T foods are 😋. The first torta I ever had was con jamón y aguacate. Mi tamal favorito is queso y jalapeño. 😋

As gringos I sometimes feel the need to ask "may we join you?" at the quesadilla stand or smaller street stalls. Is this necessary or appropriate and if so what is the Spanish phrase (chunk) to say "may we join you?". Also do Mexican people think it's a put-down if you are vegetarian and ask for "sin carne"?
Be careful when you order longaniza tacos. It's easy to get yourself into a compromising position.
If you are an edgy human being you can say, "Me da una quesadilla sin queso?"
CHUNK alert...?Si hay de Todo...?? It means...Do You have all of them...???
