Building an outdoor hockey rink

This is the second year of me trying to build an outdoor hockey rink. In this video, I do some summer prep and then install the rink liner and flood the rink.
The plastic rink liner is from Rinkmasters.ca

Why do you clear the snow? Wont it help fill when you flood?

I had to clear out the snow so I could lay down the liner. Also, snow will turn into slush which will make the ice surface rough when it freezes.
